I love the colors you chose for your octopus. Clever way of coloring the treasure chest. Thanks for inspiring and sharing .

I have close to 100 adult coloring books and out of them all Lost Ocean and Secret Garden, Romantic Country, have the best paper, heavier with some good grain (tooth). There are a few others but those for sure. Great for blending.

I'm an older woman trying to learn this art form, to keep the brain going. So, thank you for sharing your talent. I have a question. How hard do you press on the pecils? Guess what I'm asking is, do your pictures come out shiny, as if they have been burnished? I can't seem to find the right pressure. And my eyes can't really see the final effect on the screen on your pictures. Again, thank you for sharing your talent. God bless you.

Thank you and I am glad you find my video helpful! I put a lot of pressure when I want the picture to be darker and less if I want it to be lighter. I use Prismacolor Pencils and they give a shiny effect. I hope I've answered your questions. Happy coloring :)

why do you use primier and student?
@DavlinaArt8 жыл бұрын
+Nancy Conger I bought the 'student' version by mistake a while back. Then realized my mistake and bought the premier 48 pack. The 'student' version has certain colors that my premiere 48 pack doesn't have like the 'neon pink'. So, I use them both. I spent money on them, I might as well use them, right :)

Have u found any coloring books that actually print on high quality paper? Almost everyone I pick up is printed on plain paper. And even with pencils I tend to ware thru sometimes, and with paper like that you can't do much in the way of markers and blending either. I'm tempted to just go print my own on some Bristol or something.

I don't have a problem blending on these papers. I'm not sure what a better quality paper even looks like :) I'm about to post a video where I use a Gel Pen that didn't bleed through. I haven't considered using markers on these pages, but if I do, I'll let you know.

Maybe the books I buy are just cheap. The pages are barely as thick as computer paper. You know, like good drawing paper. Some 100lb+ stuff. Maybe I just push way too hard too...

Yes, I think you might be buying cheaper versions of the books. I buy all my books from amazon. Here are the affiliate links to the Johanna Basford books I bought. Enchanted Forest: amzn.to/1OTylIj Secret Garden: amzn.to/25saZX9 Lost Ocean: amzn.to/1TLOZxM I hope you have better luck with these. Happy Coloring!
