I'm seriously worried about how they managed to make the price so cheap though. This stuff is expensive for a reason. If the quest 2 is a lot more powerful and has better resolution, yet is 70 euro cheaper than the original, where did they "save on the costs"? But if this really is just a better headset than even the Rift S, then I now feel a little cheated on buying the Rift S a month ago. Especially that screen resolution. The main problem I have with the Rift S is the screendoor effect. Mostly only really noticeable when in virtual desktop trying to read stuff, or in games like VRChat with a lot of contrasting and bright colors going on. In games like minecraft, NMS and subnautica I don't really notice it. But the Quest 2 seems to have almost entirely eliminated it from what I've seen.

Not only does there need to be a new headset, they need to have a decent library of games before its an actual competitor. Facebook has been in this race since almost day one, so it’ll be hard for others to get to the point there are at now, especially at the price point they are pushing. I'm still using the original Oculus Rift CV1 headset. Been through some rough times, but it is still holding up. Got scratches on the lenses a couple times due to wearing glasses, but was able to use a paste to get rid of them and make it look brand new. Still, all those headsets with no need for a bunch of sensors taking up all the usb ports must be nice...

You buy a Quest 1 or 2, or a new Rift S, and after October you will be FORCED to use a REAL Facebook account, not some fake one - as some suggest. This goes against many laws, especially retail laws in the EU. This is why Germany are looking at this Facebook rule and using the Courts to stop them. You say you don't get why everyone is salty, I don't get why many here are so for giving away your personal information and full control to a company like Facebook, I just don't understand people - it's like you simply don't give a fuck about privacy anymore. Facebook had a 30 million account hack/leak a few years ago, now imagine if this happens again and you lose access to your VR headset ? That alone should make people think about it.

Seems pretty substantial to me, better resolution, weighs less, longer battery life, longer controller battery life, better fit on peoples faces. Worse strap and more limited eye adjustment are the negatives. If I owned a Quest 1 and kitted it out with accessories I wouldn't buy this, but it is definitely an upgrade.

CashPrizes the battery life supposedly lasts 2hrs for Quest 2. my Quest1 is the same. and I do have some pretty good add ons that have made gameplay a lot more comfortable for sure. some people don’t enjoy some pixels, but being a fan of older games, i dont mind one bit.

Just got my Quest 2. Surprised by how sturdy the box is, but of course there is a snag. If you insert the spectacle spacer, the headset doesn't quite sit down all the way in its recess and the box doesn't close. Obviously, no spec wearing designer in the box department. Just hope the same fault doesn't exist with the carry case. Anyone tried that? Also surprised by how much I actually enjoyed Beat Saber. Bit like Tetris, doesn't sound like a great game from the description, but addictive when played.

So yea ill secure it with my real name. But i wont be using the account socially but more for having the account. And as long as no one reporting you because your faking someone to be (which i wont be cause i have my name and some cartoon profile picture) ill be peachy. 👍 But i see the problem when someone fakes the account to try to hack, or fake themself to get information that mostly who they're really after. They have my IP address already they already know i wont be faking my identity.

Just got mine in today (the 13th October). I must say I am VERY pleased that they were right on time and no hiccups for the release. I was able to get through the setup and start downloading my library etc I have on my Quest. I could tell right away that it was faster and had MUCH better resolution and quality... I am little peeved though that all my new mamut grips won't fit the new controllers. Speaking of the new "stubby" controllers...I hate the angle they moved everything and now holding them actually causes my wrists to ache just moving around the menu.....so I hope there is something that comes out that makes them ergonomical...bc they aren't.

It has a better refresh rate and the comfort thing is a preference. Personally, I think I'm going to find these straps way more comfortable than what's on the original quest.

And by comfort I mostly meant the way it handles weight which is a pretty universal issue the community has had with the original. These new straps support the weight less than the old one. But I mean it is just my opinion, that's true.
