I agree more with the second possibility and I also think Kuma might sacrifice himself to slap the Sunny into Elbaf...Obviously there is also the possibility Egghead has a self destruct mechanism, so yes, the Straw Hats would need a way to safely get away from the island and pass through the fleet. I'll say this about the incident at Egghead: it will be a sum of several minor incidents and it will be unprecedented and at the same level as God Valley. Maybe the drums of liberation only activate in near death experiences which is why the giant robot only awakened now. Luffy mentioned that he nearly died going through the barrier twice. In contrary, when fighting Lucci, he was not struggling at all.

I think the first activation of the drums of liberation is triggered by death with a certain level of haki attained and then every activation afterwards is triggered by feeling the most alive cuz death cant be the trigger everytime as luffy went into gear 5 agaisnt lucci right away when he went to clash with him or maybe luffys fight lucci is purely a plot device for vegapunk and it doesn't count in how gear 5 works at all

They made a point to have Franky explain that they can make the ship fly for a whole mile, and Vegapunk was impressed. But what if it could be... better? The Thousand Sunny could theoretically be fed the Paw Paw fruit by Vegapunk himself, and literally push itself from Island to Island, Coup de Paw. Edit: Literally Fast Travel Unlocked for the final saga of the story. It could even be written so that the skills of Nami as a Navigator, Jinbei as the ultimate helmsman, Franky's ultimate ship, and even Usopp for aiming the trajectory could be necessary to make these kinds of jumps, to show that no other crew would be able to manage it. Edit 2: ah fuck, I just remembered literally the important downside to devil fruits.... people who eat them can't swim. Does that mean a ship that ate them can't float? Or maybe it would be immune to that downside since it's naturally buoyant and doesn't need strength to float. Or maybe they can't use the Paw Paw unless they Coup de Burst first to stop touching the water, so it's less like a teleport and more like a double jump, air dash. ....or maybe they'll just feed something else the Paw Paw fruit, like a cannon or something.

I've read an interesting comment on reddit regarding Kuma: What if the reason why Bonnie was so happy is because she found out, that her Fathers soul is no longer in Kumas body but instead it got replaced with the soul of the ancient robot which climbed to Mariejoa 200 years ago. Maybe the soul reacted to Joyboy and therefore started climbing the redline. And now that Luffy is close to the ancient giant the drums of liberation "refueled" the robot, which we will soon find out was implanted with Kumas Soul

I really appreciate Sawyer pointing out that the breaks Oda has been taking lately is also because of health reason. I was so pissed when twitter folks acted so entitled whenever we had chapter breaks lately, because Oda deserves rest more than anyone, like I know we haven't seen the man's face in forever but that doesn't mean he doesn't age yknow. Aside from his eye surgery issue, his health in general, there's also his age factor. He's nearing the age where everyone else would've toned down their works, instead he can't, because it's literally the last final saga and he couldn't let the quality drop. I wish every One Piece fans can take the time to understand this because this is extremely important. I'd rather One Piece chapters become biweekly if it means more time for Oda to take proper rest.

I'd be happy to see Vivi get Kuma's fruit as a way to justify her rejoining the crew, but I honestly think it would be cooler if the Thousand Sunny got it instead. Here are the reasons why: - It would match the theme of the ship (considering the lion figurehead) - The Straw Hat's ship having fast travel would be mighty convenient for the story. - Vegapunk, the person who discovered inanimate objects could 'eat' devil fruit is currently with the crew. - While only Zoan fruits have been 'eaten' by inanimate objects in the story so far, I don't think it's been explicitly stated Paramecia or Logia fruit can't be. It could be the case that devil fruit users need to have a will of their own after the consumption of the fruit, which would be possible for a ship with a Klabautermann. - It would make the Sunny more important within the story (I feel like it hasn't really been notable when compared to the Going Merry). - It would give the Straw Hat's a quick way to Elbaf.

Is this the case though? Isn't Devon just a shape-shifter? As in she can just adopt the appearance of anyone, I don't think it matters what they really look like. Like theoretically couldn't she just copy gear 4 luffy's appearance even though that's not his base form. Even Bon Clays fruit could copy Bonneys face from whatever her appearance is at the time he touched her face. She adopted Absolams appearance even though he was dead at the time.

Like granted we don't know anything about the conditions for use, but the nine-tailed fox/kisune legend is just that they're shapeshifters - e.g. it's very likely not based in 'i touch this person & my appearance changes into them 1-for-1. Like Kanjuro's clone/drawing off himself, he's freely able to make the clone as similar or different to the real version as he likes just based on his choosing.

A counterpoint to Luffy reactivated the iron giant: What if the robot’s memories got switched with Kuma’s? We know for a fact that VP can extract memories but what if he can put it into something? Luffy also told the Iron Giant to move in 1066 and at the end of 1067 Kuma was starting to move. Only when Bonny got hurt did it reactivate.

I mean, the theory about kuma dying and someone getting his fruit, that theory i heard years ago. A lot of people have thought that might be the case and it makes sense judging from the story. Guessing luffy might have some connection to the ancient robot is not that difficult to guess, especially not after his gear 5 and joyboy reveal. If that guy had made those theories before wano or at least before gear 5/ joyboy reveal, it would have been impressive, but he didn't. Anyway, great video!

The Straw Hats have abilities which make up 1-10 in Japanese numerals; Luffy - Go-mu (5-6) Chopper - Hi-to (1-10) Robin - Ha-na (8-7) Brook - Yo-mi (4-3) Kuma (Vivi?) - Ni-kyu (2-9) I think someone will definitely inherit the Paw-Paw fruit, and with Vivi stating the next time she sees them she will be a crew mate, and with her ancestors being tied into this, it will be her!!!!

About the giant theory, when zunisha recognized joyboy, Luffy wasn't in giant form. But if you look at the panels of Zunisha responding and iron robot awakening, you can see the sound cues of drums. So I'm assuming there is a particular rhythm at which luffys heartbeat or his body resonates which the ancient beings recognize. Some kinda anime version of string theory.

The rumor I've heard about Kuma is that there are height limitations to his fruit. So he can propel someone basically along the ground/ocean but not vertically, and the Red Line is a tall wall that's 90 degrees with the ocean, hence why he slammed in to the side of it and then climbed up. He had to get to the top before he could use his ability again to get to the New World. He's probably trying to make his way to either Bonney or the Straw Hats, but as for why I don't know. I do think that what's going to happen with his fruit is that, since Vegapunk is the pioneer of giving devil fruit powers to inanimate objects, he's going to give it to the Thousand Sunny itself. In regards to the giant robot not powering on right away, with the rumor that ancient technology was actually powered by Joyboy himself somehow, that it needed Luffy to be in Gear 5 for a while so that it could charge back up.
