Hi Nick. I would have used a parralel slipped between the face of the chuck and the back of the job during setting it up as it would helped keep the job square as you set it radially. My heart was i my mouth when you were facing the end in the mill and the job was only being held by the tap. I think I would have put a clamp on the tap back to the support behind but never mind you made it OK. A very interesting job and good filming. Cheers Ian Langley New Zealand

I could have taken a heavier cut that tap was so buried in the brass, but I was gentle and it worked.

Was there a drawing that showed the cross section? I am just curious why the hole was 'beveled'? etc.
@NikColyerMachineWorks3 жыл бұрын
I believe that the oil dribbled into the hole and ran down onto the screw.

Hey Nic, I think that rear jaw of your Kurt vise is on upside down. Looks like chips are able to get under the removable jaw
@NikColyerMachineWorks3 жыл бұрын
Can't remember why I turned them upside down, for some job way back. I spotted that last week too and flipped them after who knows how long.
