The thing that always TRIGGERED me, ahem, with stories like this (ex The Grudge) were the selfishness and idiocy of the spirit. Casting aside the absurdity that ghosts are real to begin with, the reasons behind the killings are just stupid. The "ghost" (before they become a ghost) cheats on their spouse. Gets caught, and murdered by said spouse. As a ghost, goes on a killing spree that would make Jack the Ripper envious; most if not all of who had literally nothing to do with them not keeping their genitals in check. I could understand killings of those who reminded you of the spouse that killed you, or the spooking of the cheater (assuming there is one) in the attempt to try to warn them. But how on the fucking planet is the logic of, "I banged someone else, got killed by my spouse (who I likely would have known they would do that as they are prone to violence), and now everyone who looks at me must die" even remotely sound? Look bitch, you a ghost now, you can go LITERALLY ANYWHERE. Not even limited to earth anymore.

I really love japanese ghost stories. they know how to make you anxious from the start to finish, sometimes surprising you with a well placed jumpscare, their settings easily relatable, adding to the anxiety and making you think about the fact that it could very well happen to you....

Probably wouldn’t work very well. Other than appealing to politeness or answering her question directly, yet in a confusing way would probably sign your death warrant as well, being a vengeful spirit who’s obsessed with being beautiful and all, it would seem that outside a few cultural sticking point type answers (hence the politeness), she’s probably a bit too one note to deviate from her obsession as a loving person otherwise would.

In india too a woman was considered to be haunting the streets of a village/town. she would attack only males tht are walking lonely on streets and wld call out there name while the guy is walking... if he turned back to reply her then hes gone.. tht spirit also used to knock ur door at ni8 3am and if a male opens the door then hes gone.. So the ppl started writing "o stree kal ana" (My lady visit us tommorow)on there doors so tht she may be trapped in A loop of never ending tommorow's.. even a movie was made to this incident nd it became really famous i now see tht this story is some wht realated to slit throat woman🧐🧐

If u saw someone with that kind of injury, your first instinct wouldnt be to run away, you would probably freak out, yes (Unless u got experience with bad wounds), but u would assume it to be someone with a very bad injury or something. People react differently to that, but turning and running in fear? I highly doubt that would happen. Ik its just a story, but inconsistencies like that just really take me out of the narrative, especially if its told from first person

All of these comments are well and good, but doing research a while back, this spirit is vengeful against lies with no shade of grey. So asking twice is determining a gruesome fate, and avoided by 3 ways. Looking straight and honesty is low but possible life safety, asking her if you are pretty is another way to simply walking away and 3rd is maple or golden amber candy.
