You made me laugh when you said, "Slumgullian." We used to ask our Mom what was for dinner and she would reply, "Slumgullian Goulash." Love you!!

You beating that burner into submission is classic. LOL. I thought it was just us Americans that fixed things by whackin' on 'em. LOL. Food looks awesome, can't wait for the next roast night here. This looks SO much better than bubble and squeak.

I've got mine in the oven now! Broccoli instead of zucchini. Leftover French onion juices from roast & roasted garlic cream of mushroom. All vegetables came from my garden and clearance EVERYTHING else! Even London broil. This is so cheap! Smells & looks Delicious!! I can't wait. Thank you very much! Will definitely use this again

My dearly departed mother-in-law used to make "slumgulllian" with spaghetti, veggies, tomatoes, and leftover beef. BTW, I looked up slumgullian and they think it comes from the words "slime" and "cesspool". Yum.

Mix together bake in 325 oven 20 minutes top with shredded cheese bake til cheese is melted or place under broiler.

Your roast beef dinner looked delicious, DEE-LISH-SHUSS!!! Mrs V, I could have joined you for dinner and loved every bite (the bowl at the front WAS mashed potatoes wasn't it? ) And you're doing what they always used to do, roast beef on Sunday, sarnies for your Monday pack-up and Cottage Pie on Tuesdays with what was left. I'm sure if the English had noodles back in the day something like this would've graced the table too. Ì can't get my head around wanting Courgette, it's a non-flavoured vegetable to me, if you pick them young they work great in a really thick & garlicky sauce either hot over pasta or at room temp as a tapas, but they themselves are just MEH.
@OurHalfAcreHomestead4 жыл бұрын
actually, that bowl held whipped buttered parsnips! The zucchini adds a juicy soft pop with a delicate garden flavour! It tastes of summer to me!

@@OurHalfAcreHomestead .. when we built our house three years ago I bought the appliances a year before. The time on the stove never worked right. No problem, the one on the microwave above the stove does. I don't get bent over small things like that. I feel like I am in survival mode while this awful disease is traveling around the world so I don't throw out anything. Old time Mainers used to say slum..... can't spell the rest but if you look at the first part it fits the narrative of using leftovers. Staying at home has certainly made me creative in my cooking.
