I am positive this is where they got the idea for "Toy Story."

Gregory P. Grant, probably you will never read this in your life. I don't know if after this film you have had success in your life: Get married, have kids, a good job... But, here is my thing: Where, in the almost 5 minutes of length, have you seen a moment in which Spielberg and Universal could've said "Yeah, we can make a film about Toy Soldiers who wants to destroy Toy Creatures because they were programmed to do that with an incorrect chip"? If you have done it to "Toy Story", I would have believed it more!
@jeremyriley1238 Жыл бұрын
I doubt he would have done that, as Disney has a lot of lawyers at the ready to prove Toy Story is not similar (I mean, this short does not have the concept of a new toy replacing a old, loved toy as well as a next-door neighbor who destroys toys for fun.

I understand the filmmaker filed suit against Steven Spielberg on Small Soldiers. Cause he claimed that he copied this film.

It's way closer to toy story than small soldiers imo

After watching this. That lawsuit is a complete HOGWASH. They aren't even remotely close to being a Small Soldier.
@jeremyriley1238 Жыл бұрын
@@Xport9 I agree, as Small Soldiers had the Commando Elite causing destruction and nearly killing humans, while the Joes in this short film are having a good time partying and hanging out, with the only destruction being making that kid's room messy and making him into a liar.

Either that, or the mother, who the boy said checked to ensure the room was clean, started fighting with the dad, accusing him of making the mess as she did check the room and blaming it on the son, leading to divorce.

I agree, since they are action figures based on real-life military, so they should know to keep the living quarters clean.

I agree, as sadly, these versions have been eclipsed by the version that was seen in the 1980's, a time when cartoons where good guys battling a group of evil villains, be they terrorists or aliens, a trend that started with toy lines like the old Kenner Star Wars toyline from the late 70's to early 80's as well as other lines before it.
