Beautiful job guys! Don't know why the algorithm brought me here, but I enjoyed the episode. Reminded me of when I owned my home, 30 years ago, Large crew, contracted by the city, had an unfortunate delay in their project. They picked up a handful of driveways in our tiny neighborhood. By the time the original job got back on track, they'd done 19 driveways out of 52 homes in our area. They were bargains, and beautiful work by real professional tradesmen like yourselves. City/county was paying for the delayed start, we just paid for our materials+ markup. That kept the crew local for the contractor and kept hands busy. Rarely get deals like that. Happy New Year!

Have just found your channel today and you guys do some serious high quality work! I've had my fair share of neighbours complaining about noise and I always tell them some sort of variance of "The longer we're out here talking the longer this job goes on" and that usually gets them to back off. Obviously I'm not trying to be an asshole about it so I word it better, but it's the truth. I also saw the other vid of the cus that didn't want to pay and said you did a poor job. I've gone back to houses and have dismantled entire roofs (I was a roof carpenter) which is honestly not the best way to go about it, but if you miss car payments your car gets repossessed, so why not a roof. You handled it well and that was also a top quality job.

You guys do nice work. I wish I could get you guys to come see my driveway. I asked your Dad a while back to pay me a visit. But I guess I just slipped through the cracks. My neighbor had some work done on their house and I hope we weren't bothersome with the workers. We tried to work with them when they needed access to our yard for the wall and layed out tarps on our artificial grass so they wouldn't get cement all over it, etc. We need to be patient and tolerant with the noise when our neighbors are having work done so they can show us the same courtesy when it's our turn.

The jackass neighbor is more than likely that way with everyone. No one can make noise, improve their property except him. If it were him doing the revamp, he would have no problem with any and all noise. So, I believe your remakes to him were spot on. When I worked construction in the 70s to 2000, we would have sent him packing the very first day. If he did not get the message, we would have parked every piece of equipment in front of his house, turned on the radio, etc.

Thank you for sharing the video and great work! Just a friendly suggestion, you might want to swap to a chest harness for your GoPro for certain video segments, instead of one on your head, since you scan the work often from side to side, while you fast forward the video when editing to keep it a manageable length and not bore us too much. It was very noticeable when you were watching them finish cutting the lines and you sprayed the concrete with the white solution. It gets a bit dizzying and makes it hard to watch imho. Cheers!

Great finish, but you do not need to use Topcast to have a sand wash. The cheapest and best way to achieve a sand wash finish is to use Soda mixed with Brown Sugar (ZERO CHEMICALS) - apply at same time as you did the top cast and wait a hour or two (depending on climate/weather in your area on the day) and then simply wash off with a hose and a stiff broom or you can use a powerwasher too - depends how far you let the surface dry before washing it off as to how much effort is required. This method you finish the job the day you pour - not come back the next day to expose the sand finish. There are plenty of videos online showing ho this is done, especially from Australia.

Usually in here in NZ when construction work is done in residential areas the owner and Construction Company would give Neighbours warning of disruption and noise beforehand work starts by knocking on doors with a letter to sign just in case someone is medically dependent and needs to be warned beforehand out of courtesy, and respect, to avoid any conflicts, even though you don't have to under law, listening to this Neighbour, seems none of this happened, to avoid any conflicts, this approach would seem advisable, the Neighbour has the right to be angry, he is clueless about concreting and should have been informed, Hey Disgruntled Neighbour, Dude put on a pair of earmuffs, WHY IS HE THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING, and respect for trying to make amends.

In my county in California a permit IS required if you're expanding the driveway. Also, you can't pour within 5ft of the property line and the front yard slab may not exceed 40 percent of the front yard area. It sucks but that's what they forced me to adhere to when I replaced mine even thought greater then 50 percent of my neighbors, including the nextdoor neighbors, were all in violation. But, as long as no one files a complaint they don't actively enforce.

Great work guys, I worked for a second gen cement guy for about 6 months before starting my professional firefighting career in 2002 and I only do cement jobs for me now but I look to see great work done especially cement. I'm a DIY guy worked as a general contractor helper in High School, 2 roofing contractors also before doing AC installing and tech for about 9 months before going work at a machine shop for about 9 months before the cement then Firefighting. SOOOOOO glad I decided to become and stick with being a firefighter. The pay isn't good but the benefits outweigh the pay, 365 sick pay, extra pay for working holidays, overtime pay because short handed, and I have 3yrs left on a 25yr career then I plan to be retired at 47yrs old in May of 2027! Thats why I got out of construction because I saw a 65yr old on a roof on a Sunday complaining how no one wants to work. I told him even workers want time off to enjoy their family or fishing, hunting, relaxing. He said he can't take time off because of too much work, I told him just tell them 4 times a year I'm not taking jobs for the next 2 weeks here are some names of people you can call while I'm on vacation in the Smoky Mountains. But he's gonna die on a jobsite because he never takes time off but I'm sure his wife enjoys the money.

Why dont you put your cage on dobies? It can get stepped on and pushed back down during the screeding process decreasing the effectivity of it even being in there. Just curious... Additionally, the job looks awesome and I have to hand it to you all how you handled the @$$#@t next door.

This the way to do it! If I owned this property, I'd want it exactly like this. What is Topcast? I've never seen or heard of this. Ok, sand wash finish.
