Didn't see anyone mention Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Russ Tamblyn as (red headed) Gideon. His best and funniest performance ever!!

This version of the Brothers Grimm Fairytale is MUCH MUCH better than the fairytale itself. Wish this had been a longer version and a movie in itself. The most romantic thing that Russ Tambyln has ever done!

In 1968 WEST SIDE STORY was rereleased in theaters. My first glimpse of Russ, snapping his fingers and I was a goner. I’ve been in love with him ever since. I love getting to see musical numbers that are new to me. This one fits that description. And if you’ve never seen PEYTON PLACE, he’s adorable in that.

I've had a crush on Russ Tamblyn since I first saw him in "West Side Story" when they showed it on TV. It was either the late 60's or early 70's. I was 6 or 7 and the knife scene scared me! I cried at the end lol! And I was enchanted by Russ Tamblyn! I also saw him in "Tom Thumb" some time after. I think I was in my teens when I saw him in "Peyton Place" when it aired on tv. Norman in a bathing suit. Be still my fluttering heart! :)

Mr. Tamblyn was not in the television version of 'Peyton Place', but the movie version, and was even nominated for an Oscar. He was also in 'The Boy With Green Hair' and 'Father of the Bride', released in 1948 and 1950 respectively.

I think most of us know the actors themselves are in their senior years. It's the fantasy of their film images most of us still admire and enjoy. Anything wrong with that?

Saw one of her costumes recently housed at a place called Movie Madness in Portland, Oregon. It was her princess dress from The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm. It looked tiny! I read she was only 5 ft. 4 inch. and weighed 107 lbs. TINY INDEED and gorgeous too!!

Yes, I know Mr. Tamblyn wasn't in the television series 'Peyton Place' which starred Ryan O'Neal and Mia Farrow. I wasn't born yet when Peyton Place came to movie theatres in the late 1950's. I meant I watched Russ and Diane Varsi's Peyton Place when it has aired on television. I think it was the 1980's when I first saw the original Peyton Place (the movie version) that was aired on television. I've never liked the TV version of Peyton Place. I didn't like Return to Peyton Place either.

@varon1979 well apparently the person I wrote my response to cared since he did ask why she didn't dance in more movies. And you're right, the blondes of the sixties were gorgeous. The one I loved that you didn't mention was Tuesday Weld. Sharon Tate was the most beautiful of all of them though.

what movie is this????
@ricardosolomon8527 жыл бұрын
It's pretty obvious that this was originally filmed in 3D. The director keeps putting people and things in the foreground, while keeping whatever is in the background distant, in order to highlight the depth of field.
@Reyne-fb7mj6 жыл бұрын
Actually it was filmed in Cinerama. The film was projected on the screen by 3 projectors. If you look closely, you can see the 3 sections.

mervrun, she was a good dancer but by no means a professional. Put her in a movie next to someone like Cyd Charise and you'd see wasn't anywhere near her in ability. That's probably why she didn't do more dancing in movies.
