Patrick Swayze was responsible for Whopee Goldberg getting her huge break and Academy award in the movie Ghost with Demi Moore. Patrick Swayze refused to do the movie unless Whoppee Goldberg was hired to play role she became famous for. Sadly, Whoppee Goldberg does not talk about or give credit to the brilliant actor who was responsible for her Academy Award and huge fame ! 💔💔💔

Wow ! A sequel to Dirty Dancing, we can not imagine this film without Patrick Swayze ! He is a phenomenal dancer and actor and talented singer ! He was a huge reason Dirty Dancing became the classic it did. Great cast, and Jennifer Grey is wonderful, but Patrick Swayze is phenomenal. Jennifer Gray came from the theater film wealth royalty. Her father is Joel Grey, she was not unknown, and doors were automatically opened to her in her career. Patrick Swayze had to work hard to get roles and became established, which was very challenging for him.

Even now I still love this movie I can't recall how many times I have watched it, it has got to be over 100 times. I even went to see the Theater Performance on stage in London and even that was brilliant, it is so sad that Patrick is no longer with us but he is still in our hearts and thoughts.

Sadly the Lake where they did the lifting scene has vanished almost totally. They are hoping the water to come back someday but the sequel will not be the same without the Lake. And there is no other Patrick! ❤

I'll never understand directors or producers putting their cast and crew in danger to shoot a scene. It's only a movie--and we, the audience, don't know where it's shot, or what the scene or dialogue is supposed to be. Not worth risking people's lives over. Find a different lake in a warmer region. Shoot water scenes in the summer. Get air-conditioning for the hot weather dance shots. I've come to the conclusion many directors are total, heartless, sadists. LOVE Dirty Dancing and all the actors. I admire their determination...but they shouldn't be killed, injured or psychologically destroyed to make a movie.

I'm surprised that they missed out the scene where Patrick jumps off the stage. Patrick was an exceptional dancer whom I greatly admired. I have read that Patrick has osteoarthritis, which is not surprising given that many dancers and athletes experience this condition due to the wear and tear on their leg joints. Patrick gave an impressive performance in the film.

🎉 it's the first teen age girls dream @ the time to be the lucky 🍀 girl dancing with Patrick swayze's dance partner to replace miss Jennifer gray. I was only 16 when when they filmed it and just 17 when it was the biggest hit that year !!!! I saw it on vacation in Puerto Rico in the summer of 1988. And it was the best part of our trip to see that movie 🍿🎥!!! The worst part of the trip was how sick my great grandmother was!!! Apart from my sister and my mom's purses 👛👜 were stolen on that trip!!! But, it was my high school graduation 🎓 trip instead of the silly highschool trip!!!! We used the money I got babysitting and doing yard work for all of us to use during our trip!!!! So my parents and grandparents always remembered that I shared my savings for everyone and that I was so amazed at seeing that movie 🍿🎥 with my sister and being the only 2 in the theater 🎭!!!! Love 💖 and miss my great grandmother and both of my grandparents and Mr Patrick swayze's 😢

This is and has been since I first seen it my favorite movie. I still pull it out when I need something to lift my mood. My daughters may not like it since I repeatedly watched it. Best movie ever. Loved Patrick Swayze and I’ve seen everything he was in. I wish he were still here and I must agree there is only one Dirty Dancing. I also watch anything that I see Jennifer Grey is in, she still is a talented actor.

One of my top ten all time favorites. And the abortion issue was address with taste and grace, and how desperately legal, safe reproductive choice is. The lift? omg, I've danced all my life, and never believed I could do it. I had no idea there was a Dirty Dancing reprise. I almost never like the number 2. Maybe Jennifer takes her grandchildren to the summer resort? The dancing was integral to Dirty Dancing. Can we see older dancers strapping on knee braces? Not sure. But I have my own knee, hip and spine problems after a teenaged career in gymnastics and long childhood career in ballet.I'd never be able to make something like this happen. I will watch the number 2, but I don't have much enthusiasm for it. I loved the original so much.

I could have sworn I'd seen a sequel already. Years ago, now, and set in Cuba, I think? I didn't remember it being released, a family member had a DVD. Patrick was in it as an instructor, but not in many scenes. It mostly revolved around another younger couple. All I see when I google is mention of the new movie though, which makes sense I guess.

There shouldn't be a sequel. Patrick is gone. I don't think it would be right. It would dishonor his memory. Besides, the original movie was based on Eleanor Bernstein. She didn't go back 30 years later. Let's not mess with the perfection of the movie. Some movies should not have a sequel or be remade. It would be like remaking The Breakfast Club it's just something that shouldn't be done.
