Bettye LaVette achieved intermittent fame until around 2005, and today she is 76. She released "Let Me Down Easy" in 1965 at age 19!! I hope that she will get more of the attention, praise, and accolades that she so rightfully deserves as a result of this song/collaboration! :)💙

I was unaware of Bettye until I saw her pay tribute to The Who on the Kennedy Center Honors. Her version of "Love Reign O'er" me brought Pete Townshend to tears! Me too pretty much. Subsequently I checked out her British Invasion LP and saw her perform at Seattle's Jazz Alley. She's phenomenal!

I found it here, oooh man! There was a garage band from the 60's that were from Grand Rapids Mi. Went totally un known, called "The Jujus". A small local local hit, "The Gentle Rain". Loved that song, as to this, The last goodbye. So sad that life is way too short on this earth. Thanks for posting. @@kristianmikoczi4853

It’s hard to accept that there’s still a lot of really great music being made, that there’s incredibly talented musicians pumping out music that gives goosebumps when listening to it… what’s hard to accept is that it doesn’t make its way to top of the mainstream charts when it absolutely deserves to be there. Instead in place of inspired creative tracks the uninspired crud, the sampled samples is what’s there week after week, month after month.
