sorry for the oversharing, but my ex’s favorite artist was field medic and mine was odie leigh. this collab took me a few days to listen to because it felt like a time capsule to a period of time i don’t often refer back to. listening to it the first time though-i just stopped folding my laundry and let myself feel. then i relistened three more times and the emotion of it all is just clinging to me right now. this song encapsulated a lot of the emotion of a bitter sweet romance between two people who were lonely and looking for love in very wrong places. but that feeling and connection existed in a moment in time where we needed it most, and i know it got us through what we individually needed, even though it left us with a lot of grief in the end. i’ve grown so much from that point in time. i was a freshman in college when i first listened to odie leigh’s music, and im about to graduate this spring. her entire discography has gotten me through a lot, and it never fails to cut deep into crevices of my mind that i often leave untouched. thanks odie leigh for a beautiful moment in time
