Back at it again with more Norse Mythology. This time we're doing the story of the origin of poetry! Oh god it's 4AM I'm so tired. I've had a really good sleep schedule for the past few weeks, but I probably just ruined it. You're welcome.
Oh yeah I should probably include words that will help seo. Uhhhh.... Odin, Kvasir, Mead of Poetry, idk I'm tired.
Thanks to Adam B from Ludohistory for helping me with my research. Check out his channel!

Okay for any of you about to nitpick me, I'm aware that in the actual story, Kvasir's blood is brewed into mead, which is not the same thing as beer. I took this creative liberty so I could include the image of Odin doing three keg stands in a row. Nobody on this earth can convince me that isn't a worthy sacrifice. Though I suppose you could just put mead in a beer keg. ....... Shit.

It is funny to me that despite the Norse not being great with records they have one of the most well known mythologies along with Egypt, a nation that kept so many records even their walls had words on them.

It's presumably because both modern academic history and much of western pop culture has its roots in Britain, and the Norse religion played a major role in Britain's history, and so it got a lot of attention.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought of this, but I love how Odin is almost the complete opposite of Zeus in this case. However, instead of bedding her and leaving her with yet another child of his, he only came for the poetry beer. Once he got close enough, he yoink'd and never looked back.

Couple of things from the video: 1. Odin catfishing a girl for beer? Well depending on what I've read from the rest of mythology(Zeus turning into animals and hooking up with random women and so on and so forth), this seems like the most tame thing I've ever heard of. 2. They didn't write down their stuff. I don't blame them, getting physical records is annoying. 3. Rebecca's kinda cute, do you think she'd go on a date with me? 4. A dwarf named Galar? How ironic I was just playing Pokemon Shield. 5. The dwarfs made beer out of blood? Well considering that 30 seconds ago the gods made a guy out of spit this isn't too crazy. 6. Fjallar is the poetic guy. I like this. 7. For the drinking part you had a missed opportunity to use the Minecraft drinking sound
