From what I have seen after struggling in Gold and now FINALLY moving up thru plat and potentially going 2-1 and ending up in Diamond after this next week... if you clear your opponent every week, it's way more important than trying to outsmart or make it tough on your opponent. I climbed a TON just putting SpS in room 3 last season and Mephisto with NiS or Orchis in another room. The rest of my defense did not matter. If my opponent had Odin or Illuminati on defense (and because the majority of people cannot think for themselves, they just copy you or Dulom or Jguisti or whoever) they could not clear me. efficiency hardly mattered and from my experience being the 7th or 8th ranked TCP every single crucible (even 7th this week at just past 100M TCP) that the people with bigger TCPs and thus more stars or diamonds on their toons are going to win because they can beat your team a few turns earlier with bigger toons they paid for. Whenever I saw an Odin on defense, I knew I would probably win because those people had the "popular content creator picks" on defense and then could not beat my Mephisto teams generally. Feel like the people this content is for is the 150M TCP people where these margins matter and the majority of the playerbase doesn't have Odin or is still sitting with 6 red on Apocalypse or SuS or maybe even has a 4 or 5y Cap Britain.

There is definitely a lot of truth to that. If a player doesnt know how to navigate the other players defences then loading up the best parts of of your roster on D could easily cause bigger problems. The argument would then be, that type of player would likely lose the Odin V Odin mirror match.

Too bad we can't use Apoc 3 x because you pretty much need him to take down the EGT and Super Skrull in the other rooms . So, your back to just leave the illuminati Odin alone

You can still try the IW sac into astral dorm 2nd attack if you need apoc elsewhere! And depending on how the 2nd attack goes, you may be able to clear it on a 3rd attack if you kill one of CB/Hank/Shuri!

@Sawowner I appreciate the thought process. At lower levels of endgame play the power levels are very unbalanced. I'm in Diamond II just topped 100 million TCP and most of my bracket is 140+ million. I focus on raid and cc teams, even with that I've had better results just focusing on more efficient clears of the other rooms and I've now taken Odin off defense so I can one shot the more difficult rooms in hopes my opponent doesn't full clear and I win by efficiency

dorm revive once goes away after a sac so it shouldn't affect much. You can sub in BC instead of guardian/echo and do the sac basically the same way

this videos really screams alot of problems with crucible right now. Good thing we got this new offense team that doesnt actually provide anyting. Instead you only need 10+ old characters to have a chance. But dont worry all your mid tier teams are worthless on defense. Guess you are better off building infinity watch instead of good characters.

Crucible is pretty crappy imo for these reasons. Raid teams are normally better than most "cc" teams, plus cc teams usually don't have very long shelf lives unless used as a clean up team

Ahhh, that Dorm addition has a lot less value than stayed. It’s instantly a lot less damage, circumvented by black cat, or otherwise dorm easily sniped by new stat AoE. If someone doesn’t know how to handle it though could for sure be issues!

Clearly I am at a much lower tier of CC, but I've long felt that the best CC teams should be kept for offense so you have a reasonable chance of clearing all 6 rooms. Putting Illuminati on D just feels wrong.

The problem is that a mirror match with Odin Illuminati isn’t always successful. It can end up being a timeout and thus a net loss

I am a lvl 98 player and came back after years of break. I was having a hard time in CC to even win any match. But when I kept illuminati with CB in CC, my win rate has improved a lot. So, I like them on defence as it forces opponents to use multiple teams and most of the time in loss.

You can double sac. Just draw the 3 illuminati abilities each time and hit pause. Then NC Sup Six wins easily. My opponent today did differently and had Dorm Illuminati Odin, so I used Big a time to hit dorm in the second sac before pausing

@DorkyDadMSF I've been taking fisto off defense. Using fisto vulture GG NC and spider slayer. First pact with fisto make sure he's a striker then basic odin and he'll die or bleed out also stun shuri with NC. Im only in master1 so most ppl don't try to clear my odin ILL so it's an auto win.

CC perma-rule, it's easy: Mythic characters on defense have -75% damage and -75% health. Easy fix.
