We've been snowed in this week, so a new update to this build was a real day-maker. You know it would be really cool to see you become like an official costume designer because if this is what you can do with just some foam and some glue (I know this is an understatement but it still stands true) then imagine what you can do with better materials and a much higher budget, like people should really pay you for this. For a KZbin channel you’re extremely talented. Sorry for this random praise but like seriously you impress me with every video lol

Thank you Petr- I already have an idea on how to rework the elbows. And if that fails, I can get more vinyl. World Class Textiles had 2 rolls of it. And I am going to need it- I have hips and knees to do too!

REALLY?? Wow- I was really afraid I would butcher it! You are very welcome, and thank you!
@CMonster01253 жыл бұрын
I made a 50's era robot costume in college and had the exact same issue with the elbows (and knees). A fellow student came up with a great solution. Make non-symmetrical width rings (so they open wider on the outside of the elbow and thinner on the inside). You know if you've done it right if they don't lay flat but lean to one side. It took several tries (and a lot of cardboard prototypes) until I got it working. I used metal wires to keep the circles from collapsing unevenly.
@OdinMakes3 жыл бұрын
I was considering wire loops inside of fabric when I thought I would be using stretch fabric. I skipped the wire as the vinyl is stiff enough to hold it's shape. But it's also too stiff to allow really small section to move under the foot of the sewing machine. It's the things you run into when making stuff out of the ordinary.
@tylersoutham66543 жыл бұрын
For the elbows: make a big circle, then a smaller circle that is offset for your arm to go through. This will give you more length on the back of the elbow but not too much "bunching" in the front.
@OdinMakes3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much my plan- Thank you!
