ODU Reacts to VCU Getting NCAA Bid in 2011

In 2011, Old Dominion had arguably its best basketball team ever. The Monarchs won their second CAA tournament in a row and earned a 9-seed in the NCAA tournament. During the selection on the ODU campus, the ODU players and coaches applauded VCU's surprise selection to the tournament. The Rams were one of the last four teams in. The reaction was kind of like, 'good for you guys.' Amazingly, VCU advanced to the Final Four. ODU lost to Butler at the buzzer in the opening round.

You really think ODU was better than EVERY power conference team in history? Where are you getting this evidence to make such an assertion? If they lost in the first round they couldn't be but so good.
