when I took all the sound deadening out my EG I weighed it and it was almost 30lb, so worth doing as saves even more than the battery swap.

Yeah dude the sounds are crazy! The exhaust is quieter now so the short gears are heard! Track day is in 2 weeks so it will be a whole new thing for sure

Very nice progress ...like the compact battery ...but it be good idea to add some sort of insulation or padding if you wish between the battery and body...may seem like no movement but trust me eventually there will be some sort of rubbing...constructive criticism ✌✌✌

No heating up the sound detaining, if you don’t want to use dry ice, just chisel it out.

I assume it’s because potential exposure to fumes which is a legitimate concern. I wouldn’t do this to remove all of the sound deadening the dry ice method is best but for a small area like this it worked really well with limited exposure to fumes.

Only because heating it up make a mess. Leave a lots of glue to clean after. I have done it to. And it was so much more work. I find it easier just with a screw driver and hammer. That’s It 😃

I can see that. But it really was very easy for a small area and using the gasket remover after to clean up the residue.

You can always use electronic duster spray on the sound deadening just flip the bottle upside down and spray you can hear it start cracking it comes off in one peice

CRC Light Gray Gasket Remover/Paint and Decal Remover. Green can probably got it from advanced auto

I got a 2000 ek and I just used a scraper i had 30 plus lbs of shit off in under 3 hours

Hows that brake booster delete holding up? My booster is going, considering the JHP kit.

It’s holding up fine no complaints. I probably would use a delete for a street car. Honed has high quality stuff alway impressing me.

next time you're removing that sound deadening stuff use dry ice, it'll make it 1000000x times easier

Dude it was so easy with the heat gun. Due to the angle it would have been harder with the dry ice I think. Plus I would have to go and buy dry ice when I already had the stuff i needed. The dry ice trick is best for big flat areas.

@@tommylyeah I thought they were helical. Unless they supply the the gear on the main shaft and the output shaft too. I was under the impression it was just the 3rd and 5th gear. Never have bought that set but a dogbox trans are all straight cut and bullet proof for the price you drop. Can't wait to see Travis on track again hell can't wait to get on track.

Yo yo yo yo yo. Refine movement baebee. Let me bring out my inner d-series facebook group keyboarding. The IACV should be on the back of your intake manifold- looks like you deleted an FITV? You shouldn't need a tune change to remove either, since unplugging the IACV will force it to close and the car will only use the idle screw to run, and an FITV is analog completely. I think they got rid of the FITV's for the 6th gens but not sure about D16A's. But if your idle went from 1500 to 800 then it definitely still has an iacv I blocked off my FITV as well, they're always problematic and 100% useless. The IACV alone is enough even in subfreezing temps.

With all the money you wasting on the single cam you could of already had a nice b20 tuned or a h22 ,you will not get a 🐢 to move faster i mean a single cam sorry even if you throw a million dollars in to it at least you turbo it but please understand you need to tuned it what ever it is even if its a single cam it can still be a little faster with a turbo
