…built and crashed…wonderful slim speedy glider on the heavy side…aerobatic and whizzling bypasses…sturdy and woody…perfect for choppy windy days…packs down to 1.50 meters…totally smacked my ones but successfully rebuilt…fully recommended alternative to overprized fragile full composite competition gliders…also check out the art-hobby vortex as an odyssey alternative or double up…or art-hobby sky ec 1-7m as a full wing smaller one…i built lots of these art-hobby wooden winged glider and love them…

Hi Johan. Congratulations for nice video. I saw that you guide the pushrod for flap or ailerons over the top surface of the wing (or extradós). In all the art hobby sailplane that I built, I routed the pushrods for the wing ailerons and flaps below the underside of the wing. Do you explain what is the better way in order to have best deflection of the movil surfaces?
@johanbergkvist88344 жыл бұрын
As the flaps mainly go down, the hinge is at the bottom of the flaps; that way there's no gap when the flaps are not deployed. To get the best leverage, the control horn goes on top. The ailerons goes both ways, so it's easier to use the underside.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ! Johan please can you tell be the power setup you have in the odyssey as it seems the perfect option having watched your flying videos many thanks
@johanbergkvist88344 жыл бұрын
Easy. It's the spinner, prop, motor and ESC recommended by and bought from ArtHobby. So the motor is an ART-1300, 35mm spinner, 12x6.5 prop and the Talon 25 ESC. I pair this with a 1300 3S DualSky LiPo (www.modelflight.com.au/dualsky-eco-s-lipo-battery-1300mah-3s-25c.html), which fits nicely inside.

Iwould like to know, how you fix push rods into the pod . Betwen pod end and servos, under the wing.
@johanbergkvist88345 жыл бұрын
I don't. The pushrods are loose in the pod under the wing. They are attached just behind the servos with glue (glued at 8:03 in the video) and then loose until they reach the balsaboard in the tail. I hope that answered your question?

Hi. What did you use to apply the fiberglass tape to the centre wing joint? You mention Arthobby sells a suitable resin but what was is it you used? Hoping to build an Arthobby glider soon.

Would the resin that i have with epoxy do the same thing? I have a bottle of hardner and bottle of resin that when mixed makes epoxy. So if i just use the resin maybe that would do for the wing joint fiberglass cloth

@@johanbergkvist8834 thanks. One final question. When you were fiberglassing the centre joint. You showed it been done on the top part of the wing. Does the underneath of the wing have to be fiberglassed at the centre joint aswell? As in the centre joint that will be sitting on the canopy? Thanks

@@heron9524 Yes, top and bottom both need fibreglassing.

The hinge plastic is clear colored on my Silent-E not black. Think i cut away too much on my first aileron :(

Been there, done that... My first AH plane was the Skua. I cut straight through that aileron hinge... So my Skua has external tape hinges and they work just fine, so no big deal.
