Fantastic! Truly appreciate the way you have kept us informed through the whole process as you create, make and now deliver our machines.

I like the way that this machine is a very "honest" machine, as it will require some effort from the user, and nothing about this is hidden by the founder....

Great video Ross, sooooooo excited! Great, great attention to detail. I know we all are excitedly waiting for the machine, yet seeing the details being worked through on the discord throughout development and production has been a real treat. I appreciate how transparent you have been throughout the process. Congratulations to you and your team!

I'm so dumb to understand all this but wont there be grease on the espresso if you grease the o rings on the piston since its going up and down on the chamber when pulling a shot? eli5 pls.
@odysseyespresso3 ай бұрын
Great question! Grease doesn't mix with water and it remains above the shower screen. Even if for some reason it were to get pushed down through the screen, the ground coffee acts as a filtration system to prevent it from being in your espresso

Nice machine... but that filling process is a pain. Why no sight glass... or even a sight window?
@charcoalgriller10 ай бұрын
It’s awesome being able to take your dog to work. I had a job like that and LOVED it. Also love the machine. Any plans for a sight glass? I think it would work well with the vibe you’ve got going on with this machine. Especially as a post-purchase modification.

Are you going to make a demonstration without the spring? In cremina-like mode

Is there a particular reason the power switch is on the back? It feels like it's not a very ergonomic position for a machine that is supposed to be powered on/off after each usage....
@odysseyespresso Жыл бұрын
we opted for aesthetics on that decision. Did not want switches on the front or side to disrupt the clean lines. It's such a small machine that reaching around really shouldn't be any hassle. Worst case scenario if someone forgets to turn it off it'll go into standby mode.

@@odysseyespresso appreciate the reply, totally understandable reason, and I have to say, beautiful machine!

Do you guys plan on adding a sight glass on the side in future models? Also, how would we go about descaling this? My biggest concern about owning one of these would be sediment buildup over time. I currently use spring water in a flair 58, but I know scale buildup isn't a big issue on a machine without a tank. Edit - Something that might be kind of cool would be some sort of stand that elevates your cup closer to the portafilter. There seems to be a ton of room b/w the bottom of the portafilter and your cup. If I owned one of these, I might end up getting like a block of wood or something to get closer to the portafilter.
@odysseyespresso Жыл бұрын
No plans on adding a sight glass. Too many added potential leak points and we have a low fluid level sensor that indicates low fluid and shuts off the machine to prevent damage to the heating element. For descaling, add solution to the boiler, turn on, pull some blank shots to cycle the solution, then dump out over a sink and rinse with clean water. We've found that this height is nice for fitting an array of scales under the cup including the Decent scale which is rather thick.

I typically pull 9-gram shots on my La Pavoni.. how small a shot have you pulled successfully on the Argos?
@fjar2314 Жыл бұрын
Can I preheat the portafilter with the quick purge? I noticed in your videos that you pull shots without preheating it so I wanted to ask if it is on purpose or? Also, can i let the group to heat to higher temps than 60 celsius?
@odysseyespresso Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can certainly preheat the portafilter with a quick purge. This will slightly decrease your pre-infusion pressure. The meat of the group typically stabilizes around 60 celsius at it's hottest. If you set the brew temp to the maximum temperature on the dial (96 celcius) the group might get a little hotter than 60C but these temps are typically only seen after many shots have been pulled and will result in a lower pre-infusion pressure requiring more time to soak the puck. Hope this helps!

@@perfectlynormal5729 nope. The app can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius but the dial is only in Celsius which I've found to be more common for espresso.
