All these people bitching about it "not being heavy enough" or "not having any breakdowns" clearly aren't listening for the right reasons. Good music is good music. It's not about how heavy a band is compared to before, and it's not about how many breakdowns a song has. Jesus. Grow up.

Stop thinking of the band as a genre, look at them as an artist. Artists change over time, people change over time through influence and life change happens. This song is outstanding, if it had a different bands name on it everyone wouldn't say they don't like it. I cannot belive the negativity this song is getting. Its amazing. Maybe that's just me? I love the grudge like vocals of Austin really that's my favorite type of music. This really makes me appreciate of mice and men more.

everyone complaining about austin's "missing screams": the band openly said, that they'll try out something new & that austin will sing more. on the contrairy they want aaron to do more of the screamos. bands change. i miss their old heaviness etc. too because it was just perfect, but they evolve & this song still is very good. i support them. and it's just one song, it's not like they made a whole album in a totally different style.

@chrisoverstreet673410 жыл бұрын
For all of those people who think OM&M are any less of a band, or not "HARD" anymore I can only say OPEN YOUR CLOSED MINDS!!!!!!!!!!! The changes bands go through as they evolve come from their life experiences, such as getting older. Their sound has become so much more complete with each album. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the screaming for motional effect, but how many songs can you use that same style before your fans (and the band themselves for that matter) get bored with the monotony! I think it shows how much they have evolved when I hear their latest releases, they still evoke a tremendous amount of emotion with their music, now it just sounds more complete!

not gunna jump on the bandwagon and say they've sold out and they're just a fangirls band as i enjoyed restoring force and listened to it obsessively for quite a while. I appreciate restoring force for its diversity and that they want to grow and change sound as any decent band should, by wanting to progress and find their own comfort. For me Restoring force sounded great in parts and offered greater diversity in parts but lyrically was not as great as the flood, which to me was the pinnacle of what a metalcore album should be. the flood was/is simply the best metalcore album imo. Shay has such a unique voice which compliments Austins Fry's so well. The Reissue songs were brilliant too and to me were a step up. Restoring force felt like a move in to a more marketable sound whilst keeping elements of metal core and expanding idea's and boundaries of what they were comfortable with, I like Aaron and think hes a great replacement but he does not have that uniqueness of voice that makes the band distinct. Ill wait till the release of the full reissue and next album but i feel like their going pop rock and not even at a gradual pace like bring me, This song is just lyrically and instrumentally generic and doesn't hold me or make me want to just smash repeat like half of restoring force, the flood and the self titled does/did. This might grow on me but god i miss that poetic vibe, metaphors and semantic fields they had going on. Still buzzing to see them in March anyway and id forgive my unease of this if they played purified or let live for me!
@AbiV310 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. This song sounds a bit like its attempting to walk away from that vibe they had in the flood. Idk if they're trying to get more fans bt this song is a no for me. I agree. I think this happens because some fans including me fall in love with the sound of a band and when they change certain things it just leaves a void that we then must search for a new band and sound to fill. With om&m i can not get used to aarons voice i think its horrible in this band aaron would be good in a boy band with that high pitched whiny voice. But as you can see by other comments most would disagree with that so i just have to hope in the next album austin has some songs he does alone like he did in restoring force. We should all back off though and let the band be themselves without all the hate comments.

This song is really amazing. I also love how their music videos always goes along with the song, it's just outstanding. Yes, I do love their old music better, but I don't mind listening to their new music either. It's just as amazing as the old music. I learned to try new things, like Paramore and SWS for examples. The rest of you guys should try new things as well besides being so quick to judge their new music because it's not up to the standards of the old music. If the band can make changes, then why can't you? It's not that difficult. This includes the new albums, the new singles, etc. This also includes everyone's opinion on Shay being a better singer and composer. He was a talent in the band, but give Aaron a chance. Aaron is a very talented guy as well, don't try and put the guy out of his misery.

This is probably one of the most radio friendly songs i've heard from them.. still good though but was always a fan of this band mainly cause Austin can scream his fucking brains out

This new style is amazing. Fits Austins voice much better. His scream is to screamo for my tastes. Restoring Force was a turning point for them and I love that album. I'm excited for another great album from these guys.

To clarify: I'm referring to his screaming on the first two OM&M albums.

Why is there so much hate for this song? They're maturing as musicians. I guess you just have to be a mature individual to like this style. I hope they write more music like this.

I thought it was weird that I saw Mitch in Austin. Whenever I see Austin, I'm always reminded of Lucker. Glad I'm not the only one.

...And that, ladies and gentle men, was a reference to a book that bored not only me, but my entire English class-and the rest of the school...I'm pretty sure the only person who liked it was the teacher and the exam board. I did not see that coming. o.o
