I am 61 years old and I can't stop listening to this beautiful music and the wonderful people that make up this band. I had to buy this CD and can't wait for the next one!! I've been coming back to these live videos of OMAM quite regularly for around 5 years now, they're like a safe place for my head and they never fail me. I'm from Germany, but from my mother's side I have Swedish ancestors. Probably because of the Thirty Years' war. I was born with a combination of my dad's surname and my mother's surname "Lundström". It's very sad that after a political reform I lost my Swedish name. Now my mother is learning Swedish and I will maybe do the same. At least some basics.

I'm with you. I don't think you can really understand a culture until you understand it's language. That being said, no, I'm not from Ísland per se, and I'm still learning the language. I was born in the States, but my mother's side of the family immigrated from Ísland after WWI. My grandmother is the only one left in my family that can still speak it fluently, but I'm working on changing that.
