WHY WARIO WORLD WAS WEIRD: The game was developed by notoriously bizarre Treasure, the company responsible for offbeat titles like Mischief Makers, Stretch Panic, Dynamite Headdy, and Silhouette Mirage. Treasure games are incredibly distinctive as being utterly bizarre, and they do a remarkably good job with tie-in games, which is the probable reason Nintendo handed off one of their less popular licenses to them to play with. I'm admittedly a Treasure fanboy, but I really do think Nintendo made a good match here. Wario is, as a concept, "Mario except subtly not", so employing a company that makes unreal-feeling games just kinda fits.

Wario World was a game I really enjoyed on the Gamecube, so I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I totally forgot those caged lions were a thing!

As annoying as the culling issue for boundary breaking may be, it's actually quite impressive in technical terms. They were able to bring "junk rendering" to an absolute minimum, allowing the environment to be highly detailed without impacting performance. Draw only what the player can see without causing graphical glitches. Very rarely have I seen games pull this off, but it looks like Wario World actually did a nice job.

I believe an episode on Kirby Air Ride would be interesting, though I'm not sure what all you'd possibly find. It's a pretty straightforward game for the most part. Though from what I've seen, you dig pretty deep, and I'd love to see more of that game in depth
