You are missing the point of why that policy exists. Most robberies end up with 0 deaths and often times even no ijuries if you comply because for robber shooting someone just gives extra sentence if caught and extra priority for law enforcement to find the now murderer. By not complying with an armed robber you put not only yourself but also everyone else in the area in a lot higher risk of getting hurt/killed. Unless you have a guaranteed way to stop the robbery with absolutely no risk of them opening fire at civilians, you let them go and let the law enforcement deal with the situation later on. What this cop did could have easily escalated into both the bank's employee and the police officer getting shot. An absolutely unnecessary risk just to stop someone from stealing money

I used to work in a bank... and yes the industry wide policy is to not call the police until the robber is out of the bank for fear that it will make the situation worse. Most robberies take less than 5 minutes, usually involves a note with no gun drawn. The robbers wants to be in and out as fast as possible. Sometimes fellow bank employees don't even realize a robbery had taken place until after it's over. That being said, this situation shows the robber walked in with his gun in the air, which suggests this would be a "take-over robbery", a much worse and dangerous situation. The bank was luck the officer was there and he did the right thing. What we have here is some idiot with about 6 months of actual "branch experience" who works in the head office "ivory tower" and never experienced any type of robbery first hand got over zealous and didn't know what they were talking about.

I don't use Keybank, but for other reasons. When I wasn't financially stable, they had this habit of "holding" all transactions for days at a time. And then, if I happened to overdraw my account, they would re-order the transactions in whichever order would cause the most fees. The one that really took the cake, though, was when I had a hold placed on my account for over $200, which took my account down to less than $20. Then, I went to walmart, and overdrew my account. I got charged that fee, and then, because they processed the $200 AFTER the overdraft, they charged me one for that one too. When I asked about it, they said that it's because they "already took the $200 out of the account, and that's why walmart got the fee. But then they couldn't explain how the $200 that was ALREADY GONE got a fee as well. Stopped going there and left them with a negative balance 12 years ago. They can kiss my ass if they ever think I'll go back and pay it too.

For one, had someone else been hit, i.e. an innocent bystander, the cop would NOT be legally, criminally or otherwise civilly responsible you fucking pussy. That would be delegated to the criminals who first caused the need for him to draw his firearm to begin with. Just like if a getaway driver brings 3 would-be burglars to my home. The odds are very high that if they make it into my home, past the security system, that I will welcome them with fully automatic gunfire from one of 4 class III weapons I own, usually my M16A1 as the rest are generally kept in a safe. If all three of them die, the driver will be charged with murder by association. Just like if I'm walking down the street and some dumbass tried to rob me, forcing me to draw my firearm and stop them, if another person is accidentally shot, wounded or killed it is NOT on me nor am I at fault in any way. All charges, criminal and civil will fall on the criminal who instigated the issue to begin with. And furthermore even yet, if I'm armed and can draw my weapon without being noticed or if I'm able to before they actually make their move, no way in Hell am I sitting there as you would, like a completely complacent little punk bitch. Only a leftist fucking twat would be so fucking naive as to believe being nice to someone who is willing to put a loaded gun to your head over a little bit of cash would stop them from deciding to beat, rape or even kill you. @Travis Thacker no that attitude you both have is just the thing that is part of why your country goes on its knees. you have a civil war incoming if you all act like sissys, the bank, you folks and your president, the looters arent sissys, but they are assholes as well. you all will do well against each other. thank god most of europe doesnt have this bs.
@tarkitarker08154 жыл бұрын
@Travis Thacker still you could just block the bank in protests block the headquartes and let it run dry, maybe start a petition since trump always likes good pr for him and thinks the law enforcers are in right everytime. this whole "dont send police" will kill customers, but most likely not the executives of the bank if something real happens. with this behaviour that ive seen often in the internet coming from people of the whole american continent (s. and n.) is just eating you all up in the end. but tbh you also need to get rid off these cowboy behaviour sheriffs that think there actions couldnt kill anyone besides them. if they shot the cop they surely would be enraged and kill others too.

The reason they don't want a shoot out as was the case due to the dumb ass cop is simply because anyone shot by mistake can Sue the bank fools. Cops kill people on the daily and even when they are wrong they get away with murder. The bank has to much liability. What do you think that if the robber shot someone even by mistake the bank wouldn't suffer? Not the cop the banks insurance which is already supper high would suffer higher rates. The shitty paper/cotton with inc on it which is worthless fiat currency to begin with morons the little amount that they give out is nothing in comparison to someone being hurt and the business the bank having to pay for more insurance and someone possibly getting killed not by the cop but by people that are not used to handling a weapon correctly. We’re butchering the language at this point. We are witnessing this “suspect” in the act of committing a crime. He’s more than a suspect, he’s an inch away from being irrefutably guilty. Change the word suspect to something more accurate. He’s a ‘Likely’ or a ‘Probably’ not a ‘Maybe’. We’re using weak language designed to soften the impact of the hard truth. Expect this problem to get worse over time as people are becoming more easily offended each passing year.

In case any of you in law enforcement or worse yet, are a armed civilian, banks don't want you getting involved in a robbery of the bank. The tellers are taught to obey any and all demands that a robber gives them and hand over ALL of their federally insured money. If the robbers are not killing anyone and your life is not in grave danger, they want you to stand down. Every bank robbery story that I have ever seen or read about in which the robber was engaged by anyone other than HIRED security, the bank has put out a statement that criticizes anyone who has engaged the robber.
