Move away from supermarkets support organic farms etc ... I have ...u pay a bit more but ur health is priceless . I think people should share seeds too as alot of seeds u buy now once produced they don't carry on with their seeds for growing they are doctored 😢

i do agree, its more effort to leave the convienence of having everything is one store, i remember my grandparents telling me about life before supermarkets and all the little family businesses they got each type of produce from, yeah about the seeds i think you mean f1 hybrids, we only grow two f1 plants, one is a tomatoe and the other a strawberry, variety..having the ability to save seeds if you can do it properly is so important!

Any views on the taste of the Riesentraube toms in comparison to Sungold? I'm currently trying to work out what types to grow next year so any thoughts much appreciated. (ps - i already have Cherokee Purple seeds on order). My outdoor tromboncino's are still producing one or two small fruits. They're in a sheltered spot, so will be interesting to see how much longer they can carry on for. The plants have been a great success this year.

Hey Tony, the sungold are earlier fruiting than the Riesentraube, so we find they make a good combo if u have room, to extend the season, both have good taste, we were impressed with the sungolds taste being a f1...thats epic you are growing the tromboncino's outdoors, are you in a warm part of the UK?

@@Temperate2Tropical Thanks. I'm in north west Kent, and my small garden is somewhat sheltered so i think that's helped the squash plants continue for as long as they have. We had a very mild frost about 2 weeks ago, but nothing significant so far. I still have two large (but predominantly green) fruits on the plants, and am delaying their harvest as long as i dare. I struggle with growing space so need to be quite selective with what tomatoes i grow. i have an old Italian variety which i always grow, but i'm also going to try cherokee purple, black moon, and rosella next year.....looking forward to seeing how they get on.
