Nice chisel. For peeling, I'd almost think you could have put the bevel on the other side and bent the blade slightly off line with the handle so you can get a little elevation off the log, similar to a goosewing axe.

I definitely would bevel the other side on the next one so the peeling bark doesn’t hit the socket, I have never seen a slick with a blade that was not inline, I wonder if it would be easier?

@@c.johnstonblacksmith Maybe? I'm just postulating, I'm a blacksmith, not a timber framer, LOL. I suppose if the bevel were the other way round, you're already getting the elevation on the handle.

Для такого бревна, как на вашей демонстрации, у нас используют штыковую лопалу с обрезанным остриём и заточенную. Получается быстрее во много ращ. Думаю ваша стамеска всё таки для других дел.
