Good stuff Boss I really like this Sunday routine of coffee and the Boss -on the flashlights since I do a lot of camping and backpacking I have gotten into the habit of turning the backend battery around whenever I throw it in a bag or somewhere it might get bumped so I don't ever have to worry about it -extra 2 seconds but that way I'm never left in the dark
@sradjoe6 жыл бұрын
Doug Outside I second that. I’ll sometimes just unscrew the end a bit until it can’t make contact. I enjoy your vids as well Doug! Take care.
@misterz27196 жыл бұрын
I have had so many batteries corrode, so I take them out wrap them in plastic wrap so they don't make contact with each other, so if I don't go anywhere for a while they don't leak in my equipment with batteries, lately I use a lot of Milwaukee LEDs flashlights, but usually my smaller flashlights go to crap, probably have a 100 in my shop,
@stan31986 жыл бұрын
I went to eneloop batteries recently and one of the main reasons was supposedly they won't leak and corrode. Plus they recharge for over 2,000 times so at my age I may be done buying batteries anymore LOL Hi Doug !!!
@bellarosesmama25976 жыл бұрын
Good idea of turning the battery around. So often when you go to use them you find as you said the battery is dead and this way it can't happen. Good advice!

We were approached by a channel and did the same thing. Our peace and happiness meant more to us than the money. Plus once they were gone we still had to live with our neighbors. DRAMA who needs it. Nature has enough beauty for me. Look forward to the next video my friend.

I surely think you made a wise decision on the tv situation. I remember being excited when the first few outdoors related "reality" shows popped onto the scene. It didn't take long to see that excitement fade. They market those shows to a group of people who so desperately want to live an adventurous and outdoors type life but are not quite sure where to leave the pavement. Great show and thanks for sharing your dream with us.

The black & red shirt reminds me of my good fishing buddy Chief. He had two of them he keep in his garage; one for fall weather heavy warm one for winter. I was only nine when I meet his; he had six kids and I was nuber 7 always with him. Today yes sir 64 years old guess what two items I have hanging in my garage. He was my gift from God life . He past away a few years ago with cancer. He gave me so many life lesson, one was to use what God gave me my brain do not stand around wait for someone to spoon feed you and you do not always have what you need, but you use your head you can find something you so have and make it work. When I later in life got my first US patent I gave him the plaque and said I was listening.

All I can say is, "Dig that, Brother!!" Freedom is the reason why you are doing what you do. With Freedom comes Responsibility and you took it by the nose and pointed it in the right direction. I learn a lot from your videos and would hate to see that corrupted by these fools in the entertainment industry; turning your knowledge into a commodity to be consumed with no purpose. My partner and I have been planning to relocate to Maine by the summer. It's something we worked towards meticulously for the past five years. I am glad you didn't sell out to the networks. What bothers me most about all the added drama they put in these shows, is that it takes away from what is really entertaining, which is the lack of drama. TV's there to keep us all in a state of fear - one way or another. The only reason you haven't got millions of subscribers is because youtube is part of the 'system' and probably won't reccomend your content as quickly as they would for channels promoting materialism and evil ways. Nice to see a genuine, friendly, wholesome, interesting man on this platform. I wish you all the very best - you've done the right thing!

You said a mouthful!!! I'm so sick of these outdoor type reality shows, I haven't watched one in a year or so. There's one in "Alaska" that around every tree is an imposing threat. Then they climb back aboard their custom made fishing boat while they suffer from their P.T.S.D. episodes. Almost as bad as the blood sucking lawyers suing the drug companies. Drives me nuts. Hang in there... And let's get some more of that "Backwoods Logic"... Love it!

For fire starter if you are in the woods and kinda stuck. take a dry pine cone and load it with pine or spruce sap. The best is if you can find a Fir tree with the sap blisters. Load up the cone with gooey sap then add some of the clear sap from the Fir blisters, that will make great fire started. Put some clear runny sap on the end of a thin twig and you have an extended match to light a fire. Actually you can even make a fast fire with just the pine cones if you cannot find much kindling.
