Thanks for taking time to really think about your designed solar system. Self education is crucial on these projects. It appears that you probably got 95% of your design correct the first go around, especially when ordering the parts. I have a very similar setup running Trojan batteries for 1305 Ahrs. I really used the internet and youtube videos also in learning about setup and care of the system.

Hi, yeah, over the past years I have literally built a house with knowledge put up by youtubers and bloggers ( youtube university) when I had no previous experience in any of these fields. That is the main reason for doing these videos. Hopefully someone can get inspired or learn something that will help them in their own projects. Some things have been a nightmare due to lack of experience but most things have gone well and Im really happy with everything that I have learnt over these past years. Thanks for your comment and support!

Your right. DC brakers are a must. A AC braker will not flip off if it needs to with DC. Some AC brakers are ok to work with ac and DC. Looks like your going to have a nice setup. Thank for letting us be a part. God Bless

You _can_ use AC breakers for DC but you have to de-rate them and check their DC rating as thai will in most cases be less than their AC rating. The problem with DC is that there is no 0V happening twice a cycle so they arc doesn't quench and just keeps going until they breaker either fuses permanently open or blows up due to the heat build-up. The far safest bet is to use the proper DC rated breakers as they can handle the quenching of the arc when the breaker opens. Breaking AC is a lot easier as you just have to withstand the arc until the line potential reaches 0V.

Hi, nice new year project! I am a big fan from your "mandala huerta". I just see all your videos (almost 2 years of videos that you upload) with all the progress and ideas (I just come to your channel and website through the biochar video). I am planning to build a small house too and plant pistachios tree in a inherit "huerta" from my grandmother. So I follow very carefully your videos to learn ideas (as you said "youtube university"). I just wanna thank you all your work (I am spanish, and it is funny when you speak english and spanish in your videos from Mallorca). Also as wish, if you could write down all the components and parts (even some direct providers for purcharse the component (hey you can earn some money too from amazon referrals, so it is a win-win ;)). It would be nice for starters like me trying to follow your stepts. Thanks and happy new year!

Hola Angel!! Thanks for your comment. It makes me very happy to receive messages like yours because I make these videos hoping that they will help someone, in the same way that so many youtube videos have helped me. I will do an in depth write up of all of the components on the blog at some point but feel free to send me a message with any questions you have or if you would like me to do a video on any specific part, I can do that too. Pistachios!! Nice, We are going to grow almonds, hazel nuts, walnuts and a few others. Unfortunately it freeses here so we can do tropical fruit. Do you know how many "cold hours" pistachios need? I have heard of people trying pistachios here and not working. Where are you? I speak good Spanish if you prefer to write in Spanish, but your English is very good. Thanks again for your message! It means a lot to me.
