Living off the land in the wild forest is hard, but in this issue I tried to make the most fertile land in the forest where I could grow vegetables and fruits. I found good fertile black soil near the river. Growing food means creating fertile soil with whatever rotting material is available in the season(For fertilizer, I sprinkled the soil with ashes). I also made a flower bed near my log cabin where I planted flowers and a small tree. I am very interested if I can grow something on this land, if you are also interested, subscribe to the channel so as not to miss.

Bjorn, the garden, fruits, and grape arbor, is simply amazing. I know the color in the flowers will make it a more beautiful peaceful place. How tasty those strawberries will be. I know it must bring you so much pride in what you have created, and continue to create. We are all proud for you. Much love from Texas, USA.

Oh bless you! The dormouse wasn’t dead, it was hibernating. Bjorn relocated it into the dead tree stump, and covered it with a blanket of dead leaves so that it would stay warm and dry until Spring when it woke from its hibernation.

Your parents must have taught you well as a youngster and you built on that to hone your skills. Please keep the meals in your videos. I try to replicate them when I can. I’m very glad to see you. This video is very nice for people who feel sad. Because your log cabin area is just like a fairyland. It’s so beautiful. But I’m concerned about the vegetables that you planted. My husband grows many kinds of vegetables with nets to prevent damage by wild birds and animals. I think you also need nets for your garden. I can’t wait to see your vegetables. Stay safe and be relaxed. Love from Japan.

It was so nice to see you gardening , planting stokrotki (English daisies) and thuja. I sort of think you planted the thuja too close to the building as it will grow fatter. It looks nice just hope you do not have deer as they will,come one night and eat everything. I smiled as it reminded me that people are the same . I am Polish and we, just like evidently Ukrainian people have the urge to plant and work with the earth and nature as soon as snow goes away. Some question for you that I think everyone is curious but afraid to ask: Are you from a village or larger town? How often do you go home? Seems like you must to get supplies. Do you work or rely on your sponsoring viewers? Do you intend to live here permanently? What do you do about bathing? You must get very dirty and smelly from all that hard work. What type of wild life do you have in your forest? Do you have dzik? Do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend? How do you go into town to get supplies? Is it far? Are you ever afraid in the forest? Yes very curious but all of us like you very much and you have become like family to your subscribers. Take care. Everyone would love to hear you say hi (audio) and tell us your ok. Otherwise your videos are perfect how they are. Cheers
@bjornbrenton

Thank you very much for your questions. I will try to answer them. 1- I am from the village 2- I don't live here permanently 3- After a hard work, I always go to the river or take a shower 4- I have a lot of wild animals in the forest, such as wild boar, deer ... There are no wolves and bears! 5- I don't have a girlfriend yet 6- I go to the city by car 7- Sometimes it's scary in the forest at night 😉

It’s wonderful to see you planting 🪴 🌱 flowers 🌺 and trees 🌲 after all the trees you cut down to build your home and compound. In the US people come in with enormous earthmovers and just sheer everything off to build ugly look alike houses 🏠🏠🏠🏠 one after another. No one thinks about what has happened to the trees or animals. All they think about is making money. It’s heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹. I grew up on a farm in a log cabin built before the Civil War and everything was so natural and beautiful. I miss it terribly but you give me hope and faith in sensitive humanity and the love 💗 for natural surroundings. 👍☮️🌞🌟🌲🪵🏡🪓💖

There are several books available, as I am sure that there are videos, on gardening in the forest and creating your own food forest. Improving the soil, watering your plants and keeping the wildlife away are major challenges. Do your research and learn as much as you can. Tweak methods as needed to work best in your situation. : ) You have a wealth of fall leaves! Leaf mulch is great for gardens. After your garden season is over cover your garden with 2-3 feet of leaves and let them decompose over the winter, then work them into the soil.

I see that you are adding ashes and some of that rich soil from the lowland to balance the soil. I do know that where there are conifer trees, there will be a more acidic soil and in another video, the man said that forest soil is not particularly rich, though one would think that with all the leaves and needles that fall and rot, one might think it would be more rich. Learn something every day. May God bless your garden, your little home you've made and you in your life, always.🥰
