Great job doing the installation mate. I have just done the exact setup using all ITechWorld gear. Just a question I noticed on the 2000 watt inverter no earth wire. I read through the instructions and I also rang the guys in Perth. They said to run the earth wire from that small bolt back to the negative coming in from the battery. Are you aware the 120x have 105 usable amps. The new 120x pro have 120 usable amps. I have had my batteries in the van now 4 years and no complaints so far.

Everything explained well, thanks for the video. But it is not a good idea to place the battery computer where the hot air comes from the heater. I wouldn't put the charger in the box over the pipe inside either, it gets up to 80 degrees hot. Many greetings from Germany

My thoughts exactly mate. No knowing what the ambient temperature in that compartment gets to, I’ll be interested to see how it performs. If the heat does affect performance I’ll be sure to come up with a solution and follow up with a video.

Almost identical to mine The dcdc charger gets hot when running of the alternator Itech make great products, my office is 5mins away in WA Great instal very simple diy

Be sure you have an rcbo safety device between the inverter and 240v appliances. Without a proper safety device installed any earthed appliances being used can be dangerous if a fault occurs.

Absolutely mate, The inverter has a built in unit but the way it’ll be used is through the main 240V inlet which runs through an RCD prior to any gpo’s

Thanks for the video - can I ask how or what you are connecting to the inverter, and how are you doing that? Are you running all 240 volt plugs etc? Thanks mate

For this setup it was only being used intermittently, so plugged into with extension cords, but if it was going to be a permanent setup it’d need to have a built in transfer switch to change over from mains to inverter power.

​@@TheAssociatesLive that can work, but there can sometimes be protection issues with RCDs and Circuit Breakers depending on the inverter you are running. You'll need to check whether your inverter has suitable RCD protection for this setup. In this video the owners were just running a lead from the inverter to what they wanted to power.

How do you connect to the inverter to have 240v in the van ,does it connect to the GPO of the van ??

@@timothyfitzgerald8820 The inverters have an outlet built into them. You could wire a short cable with a plug top on one end and a GPO on the other, mount it on the panel under the bunk facing out that he mounted the gear in for an easy way

No not if you arnt a licensed 240v electrician....have you condidered haveing a licensed electrician wiring in a 240v transfer switch and appropriate safety switches to safely use 240v from your inverter to the GPO originally fitted in the van ???
