Everything you can build that makes living in the desert more like house is worth building. Plus reusing material and picking material up for free is always good. We just got a load of 4x4 lumber for free from work, and got a used furnace, so keep looking for those deals because they are out there to be had. - Jeff

You could probably bake simple things (biscuits, casseroles) on your disco using a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven with a lid. I know it works on a gas grill or open fire.

Great idea to move all that outdoors in the summer! When you eventually get to the point of having lots of garden produce you can easily expand it with one of those outdoor propane stove stands and an extra table for canning.

Kudos to you two for salvaging wood from new construction dumpsters. To me, it's sometimes shocking how much waste there is, which does not need to be. There is little new construction around me now, but I have a trailer and jump on opportunities.

If you have a cast iron dutch oven and/or cast iron skillet you can bake biscuits.

We’ve got a cool Dutch oven that is also a deep skillet and the lid is a normal one but we haven’t made much with it yet
