Күн бұрын

Spend a day with us at The Garden, an intentional off-grid community in Tennessee. This ecovillage is a rest stop for nomads, where they can stay in tiny homes and converted school buses on shared land; experiencing a simple and sustainable off the grid life. In this episode we are transplanting asparagus, creating a tree nursery, tending to the chickens, and cooking farm fresh foods.
These days we are doing a weekly podcast with members of different intentional communities. Hit subscribe and click the bell to follow along!

Trust me, you may not think it on the whole, but having exposed them to being self reliant, and thinking outside the box will help them in ways they probably won't realize yet in life. Who knows, maybe a few decades down the line they might start to realize they have these skills and they'll be thankful.

I just finished the tv series and listened to a few of your podcasts. I find all of this so interesting. If I wasn't so dug in my lifestyle (family, work, raising children, health, etc), this would be such a fun adventure, even if it was just for a short while. The most I have taken from your experience so far is that we have one life to live, and we can live it however we want, as long as we are not hurting anyone else. This may not be my lifestlye, but you are giving hope and valuable information to others who would greatly benefit from this way of life.

I am a senior citizen and I am moving to an intentional community here in my city. We have chickens and an organic garden. I have no family of my own, but I feel like I belong in this community. There are all ages there, which makes it interesting for me. I am always fascinated by other people and their lives and ideas. If we band together against capitalism it will fall and a new type of society will emerge. This community and ones like it are our future. Blessed Be from Canada.

I've been living off grid for thirteen years, one of my son's joined me after four years then his mother came out four years ago. I have no doubt that my other son and my daughter will be here before long, the way the world is going they won't have a choice. I see mass extinction incoming, people will be caught off guard. We are on the verge of many catastrophic events at this very moment and people have no idea. 1, is a global economic collapse, 2, world war three, our adversaries nuclear doctrine is an EMP first strike which is an electric magnetic pulse that will fry the grid. That will cripple our entire infrastructure. All deliveries to the cities will stop, no gas no diesel, they won't have water because the pumps won't work, no food, no banking, no emergency services, no medications, the emergency management agency wrote a report saying 90 percent of the population will die within the first year, personally I think it will be much quicker. Then we have the threat of an all out nuclear war and nuclear power plants melting down and all the fallout. Even if we were to avoid these events we still have the problem of climate change. This is a very controversial subject. The globalist tell us it is manmade but that is not true. They are correct about severe climate change but they want people to believe it is caused by man to take control over humanity and so people believe we can change it, if people believe we have control over it they won't panic. The truth is we are at the twelve thousand year cycle and our sun is the cause. It will be a mass extinction event. Not only will we suffer mass crop failures and historic storms and massive amounts of solar radiation 5he finale is à Earth's crust rotation which will send oceans over the top of continents. We will get CME's and a micro nova. Humanity has survived them in the past so there will be survivors but they only expect about ten thousand survivors. You can watch a KZbin channel called suspicious observer and adapt 2030 to learn more about that. Suspicious observer gives daily reports but he does Q&A and has homework videos to explain the entirety of these 12,000 year cycles. If you can get out of heavily dense populated areas, get out and go off grid and become self sustainable by growing your own food and having a reliable water source for drinking and watering your gardens and livestock. Do you see the commercials talking about grid down in this video? These guys are doing the right thing, my setup is more sustainable but it isn't pretty like Doug and Stacey's set up. It doesn't have to be pretty it just has to work and serve your purpose. I like these guys here cause they are making it work, doesn't look pretty but they will survive what is coming.

I believe you. I would have thought you were crazy just 5 years ago. But I've done some research and went fully down and partially down some "rabbit holes". Some I wish I'd never have gone down. Since that time I've stockpiled lots of canned goods buckets and buckets of water(I've chlorine tablets for that as well). My husband and I have friends(married couple) who have some acreage of land. We've gone in with them on some livestock. They are preparing the land for a fallout shelter and for it to be self sustaining. A small green house has been built and powered by solar panels when needed. It's out in the middle of nowhere as it should be. I always thought those preppers were crazy. They are far from it. They are thinking ahead. And that's smart.

Old lady here. I must say I began this video with some skepticism because back in the day quite a few groups tried and failed at communal living and farming. But you all seem to be very organized and intentional in what you're doing. That, and not being stoned much of the time. Best of luck to you for the prosperity of your enterprise!

Not to be mean here, but you're incorrect about cutting mushrooms. It doesn't matter whether you cut them with a knife or just pick them with your bare hands. Fugi aren't plants and the parts that you pick are just fruiting bodies, technique of collecting them generally doesn't affect mycelium. Aside form that, love your work, love the community. Have a beautiful day 💚

Id love to come live someplace like this. As long as there is no cult like or religious things going on Ill be fine. I currently live by myself offgrid in Louisiana. I recently became able to afford to build whatever offgrid home that I want. So thats the plan. I just have to find a piece of property and a loving woman to start a new life. But there are few people like me amongst my generation. Im a true woodsman and hunter, survivalist, artist, carpenter, and farmer. I wish everyday id find where Im suposed to be in life. Because im like a freak of nature according to the modern world.

I am a person who must wash myself and my clothes most regularly. Although I an not off grid I have set myself up to be just in case that becomes real someday. One of my pet projects is these two bath tubs I have in my yard that have fire pits under them. I have water in many forms, so no worries there. I regularly fill a tub and build a fire under it. I drain it to my garlic patch. This was a pretty interesting video. Lots of ideas. Too bad you can't stay for the winter to see what the whole year is like. Canning would be an interesting video.
