I don’t like my parents but compared to this, I’m actually grateful for some aspects of how they raised me. Good education, vaccines, ability to speak and read, I’m going to college, etc. These people are ridiculous.

Hope he's given up the breastfeeding though, didn't see any of that, but I did see him bring his food into the corner and eat it on the floor, also like a dog.

@@jhutch1681 UK Government website says that although no cases of paralysis have been reported, there has been poliovirus detected in sewage in East London last year. There was subsequently a vaccination campaign for children aged 1-9 to help London catch up to the rest of the UK, as unfortunately the area has high levels of vaccine hesitancy. Anyway I believe that these parents are irresponsible for not vaccinating their kids without a proper reason. Children should also definitely be in some sort of schooling by age 5. It is undeniably necessary for social and cognitive development.

I applaud anyone who is doing their best to make informed decisions, even if they are not the ones that I would make. Research and experience shows that some home educated children can excel beyond their schooled peers, but there is no magic formula for everyone. There are also schooled children who do well, and some who do not. It is responsible to consider risks and benefits for each unique circumstance even if the choices you make are not the popular ones.

The hosts look so stressed at the chaotic behavior of the children. I applaud them for conducting this interview respectfully. I’d be interested in a follow up on this. Having no rules at all goes against the natural reality that we exist nestled within the rhythms and cycles of life. “Not too loose, not too tight” is ultimately much more “natural” to me.

@choiichanhee_Ай бұрын
In the UK schooling is also mandatory and free (unless you go to a private or any type of school that isn’t public or comprehensive generally) but the thing is these parents tell the government that they’re ‘homeschooling’ their kids when they’re clearly not, that’s why they’re getting away with it :/

Most people cannot understand this, but I know someone who lived in a hippie commune and was not educated until 12 years old. He later gained a PhD in Computer Science and worked on software for Airbus which prevents each wire from touching (quite a hard problem and necessary not to cause a fire during flight). Then there is Sweden which also places an emphasis on raising family using social benefits. Sometimes... not everything is what we think or should be ;)

Would love to see them treat ROTA without a hospital and IV...
@pippadawg70372 ай бұрын
My then year old daughter contracted it during an epic rotavirus epidemic decades ago in Dallas. She never got an IV nor was she hospitalized. I wanted her in the hospitalized. I was terrified. Everyday the pedestrian had me bring her to the office. The pedestrian told me not to nurse her but to give her pedalyte instead. He insisted she might inhale the milk and if she inhaled pedalyte it would be better because it is sterile. But she would turn her head away and refuse it and I didn't think inhaling pedalyte would be better than breastmilk. So I nursed her round the clock which she wanted for comfort. My milk supply was low because she was almost weaned when she got sick. I theorize that tiny trickle of milk kept her just hydrated enough so she never had to be hospitalized or receive IV hydration. Plus she had my antibodies to the virus via the milk. So yes you can manage rotavirus without IVs or hospitals and when there are no beds open, you can be forced to do it. When she started feeling better I got mastitis because my milk came in like I had a newborn and suddenly she wasn't interested.

@@HZTenh17g That may be true of some people, but is an unfair comment in relation to this family. I have known many families who have raised their children by unconventional methods and the children are well spoken, adjusted, independent thinkers, intelligent, problem solvers and ambitious. Many universities actively recruit homeschoolers because they are most often curious, hardworking, confident, self starters.
@jhutch1681 Жыл бұрын
@@STRAWYB Happily, that's not how it works. Children are natural explorers with a thirst for knowledge. All they need is someone to give them exposure and help them find the answers. Before long, they learn to find answers for themselves and often excel beyond what would have been otherwise taught to them. 'A proper education' implies that schools always get it right, that everyone succeeds and no one fails, which is not the case. Neither is it easy to homeschool your children and parent them 24 /7. It takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice on the part of the parent.
