Thanks for the video Terry ! An option to consider for alternative lighting fixtures might be to mount and plumb in some propane light fixtures: (Humphrey Propane Indoor Gas Light.) I have several that I'd be very happy give you but I don't plan to go back to my cabin until February. I actually prefer the convenience and cost of portable propane lanterns. I have also assembled a collection of oil lamps over the years. As much as I enjoy oil lamps their exhaust can give me bad headaches when used in confined spaces. BTW, the best lamp fuel I've found for reducing soot and odor is charcoal lighter fluid. It's easy to find and much cheaper than "ultrapure lamp oil" which I suspect is the same thing. I'm not going to comment on your struggles with drywall except to say that I could relate. It was good content and was courageous for you to post it. 😜 Thanks again for the video !

Hello Trre.Advice for you. 1) Garlic is best planted in September and October. 2)Before planting, it is worth feeding the position for garlic with a large dose of compost3)Garlic has a fairly shallow root system. It reaches only up to 20-30 cm with its roots. Therefore, nutrients must be supplied close to the roots so that it can absorb them. 3) Garlic likes sunny positions very much. It also does well in partial shade, but then it has smaller teeth and takes longer to mature. It is better not to plant garlic near conifers. These are evergreen plants that do not shed their leaves for the winter. They cast shade on other plants all year round. Garlic, on the other hand, can be planted near trees and shrubs whose leaves fall off for the winter. It starts vegetation very early, at the end of winter, when there are no leaves on the trees yet. Thanks to this, it is not shaded and can enjoy the sun for many weeks, storing nutrients in its teeth.

About 15 years ago I was working for a well known satellite TV company. Went to do a repair for an old farmer here in Minnesota. The guys back yard had an absolute carpet of acorns. I made mention of it. And he said, 'Best bundle up this winter. That many acorns means it's going to be a bitter cold winter.' That old man was not wrong. That winter had some crazy cold. Downright abusive. I personally hope we get another winter similar to last year. I'd be good with that.

Maybe try some flagging around your dead standing before all the leaves fall off closest to your cabin. It could be a great start to using your chainsaw mill and making a solar/diesel heater shed from scratch like Ringworm. That way you can take care of 4 things all at once. Solar - lithium battery bank, cabin, and bunk house. The heater's thermostat can run on your lowest setting keeping the batteries at operating temps while gone. Run it remotely to heat one or both the cabin and bunk house also. Maybe even water storage pump house hub also.
