Hey y'all. I like how you both methodically look at the land and plan your future. It's a beautiful thing. Zae, you kept talking about cutting that Winged Elm tree and all I kept hearing was "wean down" tree. 😂 I said wth is a wean down tree? I googlized it and learned about the Winged Elm. 😂

If you are going to cut the oak trees, either save the wood for future builds, or sale it. In Kentucky oak sales for a lot of money. The huge oak Is perfect for a round swing. 🙏🏼💙

You can get a "Pocket Saw" from home depot or Lowes and tie a rope on 1 handle of the pocket saw and swing it up over the limbs, and reel it down then tie the rope on the other end of the pocket saw then reel it back up and began Sawing the limbs😎 I cut some limbs high up in a tree like that one time,, Worked Perfectly!!! make sure you use gloves though when pulling the rope to saw, can be rough on the hands abit!!!💪

You two are doing a great job at managing the land. Might want to replant the smaller pecan trees to a different area so that you will have more nuts in the future that could be a potential profitable harvest. Looking good!

The bush hog could move that wood burn pile away from your home. Ask the bush hog operator to clear out the under story of small trees instead of sweeping with your chain leaving little stumps sticking up. Bush hog shovel pushes trees down and creates a burn pile. Use the Bush hog to cut a path through the forest

We appreciate the ideas! We are working on clearing out the underbrush and we’ll keep that in mind for our next clearing project.

I'm a couple of years away from Getting my Homestead,,, Still trying to decide on Getting Goats or Sheeps... What made you guys go with Sheep instead of goats?
@ZayandNaeАй бұрын
The sheep are less rowdy and more calm than goats in my experience. And I feel I'd know better how to market sheep vs goat if I want to sell any.

Dude before you tackle cutting down the big tree you’d be better off to have an experienced chainsaw person supervise you. Try consulting your county ag office.
