Off-Road Drive: 2015 Acura MDX SH-AWD on Everyman Driver

I have two MDX's a 2004 and 2012 w/ SH-AWD. Both handle with confidence in Take Tahoe during the winter snow. I've never gotten stuck or couldn't make it up an icy hill like other auto makers.

I live in Colorado and I'm an avid adventurer I bought an MDX because it was a phenomenal deal And it was better for getting into mountains than my Scion tC is and given how far I've taken that TC I think this thing will do very well for me thank you for the video

Nick Larson I completely agree. MDX is awesome..its luxury and off roading is superb.. Jeeps,trucks( hahaha what a joke they are..u drive them over 60 k they are trash after)

looking at buying one used. This video may have sealed the deal. I do go offroad occasionally on some mild trails and my driveway has a section that looks like one of those hills. I want to feel confident it will make it up the hill when it snows.

Just done a test drive of MDX at my local Acura dealership in NJ car is quite nice however it is shame that Acura decided not to offer some features for USA market for example for Canada and Europe markets Acura offering real wood inserts(ash tree from Spain looks fantastic), all around view camera system, heated steering, headlight washers And that is strange considering many competitors offering those options for free or at least for the money ? Fog lights is a dealer installed option for around $500 that is bad ...

I do take my 2004 Acura MDX Touring off-road, it performs well, may have slightly more ground clearing than the 2015...

Thanks for the review, Dave. Winter is right around the corner. Will there be a snow test? There was that one hill the RDX just couldn't make in the snow. I would love to see how the MDX will perform in the same conditions.

does the comfort act as an eco mode? Does the Variable Cylinder mode engage on all driving modes ?

Dave were you ever given the option of driving the MDX Advance Package Model?> It had Magneto@ Shock suspension... very cool.... They were discontinued in 2014... Rumor is because of high failure rate because of leaking oil seals in second oil chambers around 80K miles. But when activated for Off Road Driving they raised MDX suspension/Ride height... also vise versa for freeway driving you never felt a bump!

Hi Erick. Luxury aside, is the MDX the same as the Pilot in 1- off-road AWD capability 2- ride comfort, ie:muting bumps, and road imperfections from the passengers?

JOEL HIDALGO MDX is leaps and bounds above a Pilot. I used to have Pilot EX-L RES 4WD 2011 and my cousins have a 2014 MDX Advance awd. It's better than my Odysseys (2008 Touring PAX and and 2010 EX-L RES) and 2014 Fiesta Titanium Sedan Manual.

Dave, I love this video! good to know the MDX can do some off road driving as I personal own one, may I request down the road if you can review the Acura TLX SH-AWD and if you can key in the realistic 0-60 acceleration as some of the recent reviews do not key in on it. Unbelievable! $27K... I own a 2015 Subaru WRX, AWD 6 speed manual, mid package. $28K. My mixed average MPG is 27 MPG. So for about the same price as my car, why the hey would you purchase this Mitsubishi? The AWD is so awesome and well as being fast when you want it. Great trunk. I have my mountain bike in back with back seats folded.
