Off-Road on the The Oregon Trail | Mountain Home, Idaho

✔️ About the Episode:
The Oregon Trail has always been one of our personal favorites to visit during our RV travels. From reading about it in history books to actually taking the F-350 DRW on an off-roading adventure. We had so much fun in the backcountry of Idaho, near Mountain Home.
The trail has many surprises in store for anyone that tries to follow its' path. Pamela became very good at scouting the road ahead to ensure random cliff's and bluff's didn't appear in our way. We only did a very small portion of the 2,140 mile trail but the path we chose was amazing and fun for the whole family!

Love it. Jeanette you are the best. Next time we will ride in your Jeep instead of the dually. Sophia cracks us up. She kept telling us that her face hurts when we go on adventures, and we had no idea what she was talking about…….Until we saw the footage 🤣😂

LOL. :) Those clips are pretty cool.....When They Work! Most of the time they are broken and don't grip the rugs. When we were washing the truck, Sophia said the same thing. "Daddy, what are those clips for"? I said watch this.... :)

It's funny how the best views are on paths that nobody takes. You just have to say: "We're going this way" and then the magic happens. :) We are so glad that we can share those views. Like you said, So Amazing!

Hi Jesse! LOL. That must have been a meteor, because how did it get ON-TOP of the hood? :) We loved being out on the Oregon Trail and it really was a once in a lifetime event. So awesome!! However, you would definitely need a 4x4 vehicle because it was a tough landscape.

Reflectex is available in bulk under a different name at the Orange store. Late but handy for others to know. I use it in Idaho myself on the sunny side of the RV

Menard's, Home Depot and Lowe's all carry that thermofoil as well.

Hi Kirk! Thanks for the great tip. I think the most important thing to remember is not wait until it's over 100 degrees outside to go looking for the thermofoil. :) We didn't look at Home Depot or Lowe's. Great advice!

Been too Mountain Home but not on that Oregon Trail. One time going from Phoenix to Texas we decided to go see Old Tucson well I saw sign with an arrow said this way well! was wrong turn in a motorhome we ran out of pavement turned looked a trail with lots of deep gully’s I just knew we going to hang up I looked at Rex and said what are you going to do he said keep going can’t back out or turn around it was what we called whiteknuckle time we made but needless to say we didn’t go back that way. I enjoyed the video you kids are awesome

Hi Irene, we were full of nerves and "whitenuckle" just reading your story. We are so glad that you and Rex made it out of that gully with no RV damage. It's so amazing how many new discoveries are waiting around every corner. We always say that moving forwards is better than moving backwards. :) RV'ing brings out the adventure spirit in everyone and it sounds like You and Rex made one heck of a great team. LOL. :) We had no idea that we were taking our DUALLY on a road made for Jeep's and smaller 4x4's. I was like....OMG we are putting scratches all over Maximus. It was so much fun though.

It was probably not a rock that hit your hood it was frozen bird poop
