Those Antepe Muscle Runners are THE BEST ! Bought a set last spring and they made a HUGE difference in my race results. Still not sure which unspiked sprint shoes I should use. Any recommendations welcome

I've not done any sprinting/sprint training in 5 years. 27 years old now and would love to get back into it but no idea how or where to start :( or if it's even possible. helpful vid for some ideas for off season training though!

Is ten grams of creatine not too much? Does it take effect fast or is it to saturate muscles for next workout?

Love the vid! Had a question, why do sprint instructors emphasize striking into the ground and creating high vertical force when you need horizontal force to move forward? When I sprint and I think about striking, I feel like a go nowhere. What should I do to create a higher horizontal force?
@ATHLETE.X5 ай бұрын
I made a video and article about it. Maybe watch that then come back and see if questions still remain. Briefly, you cannot generate useful horizontal forces until you’ve first supported your body weight. So vertical force must be applied to support yourself. At top speed, when you stop accelerating, net horizontal force is zero and vertical forces are high. People misinterpret this and think it means hz force isn’t important. Sprinting is about how you apply force more than how much you apply. The skill of sprinting is in large part being able to apply force in the right direction in appropriate magnitudes, quickly. Getting stronger and all that can help but really it comes down to technique.

I got a question I notice in your sprinting you have a wide stride. When I sprint mines more narrower. Should I change that? And how?

Cody! are you mostly training in the Antepes for most sessions when not spiked up? What are your top recommendations other than those or are you noticing they are improving your speed over other trainers. Been looking at these, Brooks Hyperion or Brooks Draft XC spikeless.

Hey JB, I tend to rotate between the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 (warmups and some jumps), Antepes (sprints, pogo hops, straight leg bounds) and spikes (Nike ja fly 4, Nike maxfly). I’ve used the glycerine and hyperion as well. I just like the stability of the adrenalines.

I'm gonna join your membership, if I join the $4.99 membership option, will I get access to all your workouts and tutorials to do the workouts? Thanks.

The online training is through teambuildr and linked in the comments/description. The KZbin membership is more just a way for people to donate a small amount to the channel.

Just one question, is it too late to start competitive sprinting? I'm 14 and was an endurance enthusiast my whole life, doing cross country and triathlonp and stuff.

Not at all. Perfect time to start! Just give it some time and you’ll adapt well

Hey I'm trying to drop my time from 54.2 in the 400m to 51 or lower what do you reccomend for off seaosn training?
@zanesims17765 ай бұрын
Off season training should be dedicated more on top speed and acceleration so: 1. Flys 10~30m 2. block/crouch starts 10~30m 3. Short Speed Endurance 80~150m 4. Max velocity work 40~80m The goal is to build speed because the speed endurance for the 400 you can build during the season, but it’s harder to actually gain speed that you need, and if you become faster you have a better speed reserve. Ex. 10.9/21.9 sprinter is going be able to go out a 23 in the first 200 a lot easier than a 11.5/23 sprinter.

Why shouldn’t you use max flies in training? Too much stress?
@ATHLETE.X5 ай бұрын
I like to spend some time in less stiff shoes to build my foot strength, but also so I don’t break the max flys
