Love this honest, historical content. Upgrade from pork to a shrimp baozi or two on me. 謝謝

Linqing looks quite like my hometown. I miss this small town style in Shandong.

Thanks a lot my dear, every time I watch your video I learn interesting things about human geography and history, not just about eating and playing. This on the field records from your perspective is what I couldn't find on other YT channels.

another big thing is the Sulu king tomb in 德州, hope you didn't miss it. It was amazing to learn that ancient Filipino could travel such a distance to greet the Ming emperor.

Linqing looks fairly interesting, but I like old streets which still have shops and restaurants etc. Maybe Zibo is worth a visit in Shandong. The old town is interesting and the modern museum of glassware and ceramics. I think there's also a guided tour of a Tsingtao beer factory.

I liked the lack of tourism here, no frills, just people living their lives. Zibo...famous for bbq 😂

(5:46) The red store sign says : "House of Ma Seeds". The last name Ma (meaning Horse) is an ancient Chinese last name, used long before Islam developed in the 7th century CE. I read somewhere that there were Chinese Muslims who named their sons Muhammed. Some of them adopted the Chinese last name Ma that has its origin from Muhammed, nothing to do with horses. That a splendid Muslim temple was built in Linquing makes we wonder if the seed store owner is Muslim.

It seems that many ancient monuments from the old era have been preserved here. Although the maintenance condition does not seem to be good, the sanitary conditions also need to be improved. The monuments and cultural relics scattered across the country need to be well maintained. It is indeed a huge investment project.

As you know, I kind of like things a bit less polished and less perfectly maintained. But, you are right, some of these places could do with a little spruce up maybe. Despite the history here, i think tourism isn't much of a thing though.

@@nickinchina2552 Maybe I didn't express it accurately enough. When I saw the township roads you walked through, the market looked very dusty. Maybe it was because of the winter, and the surrounding environment looked very dilapidated. You do get into it and I will follow your advice.
