I’m so glad you’ve reviewed this walk. I now have both Classic Walks Cornwall books and had earmarked this for our visit in August. The ice-cream will help persuade the children that the walk is worthwhile. It looks wonderfully quiet!

Love that farmhouse and the view! Those hedges are very interesting (and tall). Those grasses were tall too! (It's a theme today) . Amber waves of grain. It is a very tranquil walk. Poor horses. Afternoon tea sounds nice though. Ice Cream! I hope Andrew gets some samples to review. ;-) Great walk! thanks for bring us along! Kay

Another lovely walk! Lovely to watch on a miserable Sunday morning!! Nice and quiet, no people.... And frightening Andrew jokes, although the horses 'were' pretty funny!! Finished off with Ice cream on the beach. Perfect....10 out of 10!! 👍😀

As always, thanks for another lovely walk. You seem to truly enjoy your walks so much. I remember long walks before our children, with our children & a bit after they had grown. Oh, all those years I walked unassisted & now I use a walker, forearm crutches & a rollator just to get around. So treasure each day! Appreciate you sharing.

Andrew was on form this week mind lol and I would never have guessed he was 6' 5" lol. Afternoon Cream Tea for two was not badly priced and I think we would have been tempted and a definite 10 out of 10 from us as well, cheers Alan

Durgan has very limited facilities. The cafe is run by the National Trust, offers tea coffee and ice cream, from memory! Andrew thinks there may be toilets but not sure. The nearest pub is in Helford Passage (signposted at 11:18) called the Ferry Boat Inn, not been there for some time, used to be a favourite before we were married! The coastal path is an alternative route to Durgan from there, lovely spot! Sarah :)

As an Australian I have to ask , do you ever encounter poisonous snakes on your walks ? They are everywhere here , its eyes on the ground at all times when going hiking in Australia.
@CornishWalkingTrails5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Yeh, we have one indigenous poisonous snake, the adder. It's favourite habitat is dunes and grassland so its best to stay on paths during spring when they are most active but they scuttle off quickly. Dogs are most at risk from bites when they wonder so we tend to avoid the dunes in spring. Sarah :)
@randomdave303 жыл бұрын
@@CornishWalkingTrails I live right by Gwithian Towans. Once, on one of my rambles, I encountered a HUGE adder, which must've been a pregnant female (obviously!!) as they're the only ones that attack unless provoked. It reared up and made some ugly noises in my direction then shot off into the long grass. I realise they are a protected species and that they're only doing as nature intended - but, all the same..... Disgusting object! Loathesome great worms! Snakes are all neck and tail and are horrible. Apparently if you decapitate an adder the severed head will survive, and can still deliver a bite, for up to an hour after it's been deprived of the rest of itself. What a grisly thought!
