It’s funny how his speakin voice sounded exactly the same. Eddie Kendricks by far was my favorite Temptation. NO ONE could replace him. I gotta admit, I’m a much bigger fan of him as a solo artist. He had a lot of classic solo hits: Keep on Truckin’, He’s a Friend, Can I, Date with the Rain, Get the Cream off the top, Girl you need a change of mind, Boogie Down, Tell her love has felt the need, Shoeshine Boy etc.

I started seeing Eddie in late 80s with me and my dad. And didn't know his voice was diminished because it just didn't sound like it. That' smile was evident and kinda smoke screen any diminished voice. He was a living legend I felt at that time. Wow

Eddie Kendricks original voice is amazing this is the first time I heard his true voice however the live band that's in the background I believe it was playing Isaac Hayes don't let go and I thought the Dells was on there but one thing you said that is true you need more money to make money God bless that man

Maybe if was asked the right questions his interviews would be more interesting. I love Eddie too. I was just looking at an interview with him and David Ruffin. The questions were really cheesy, such as “who coordinated your wardrobe, where did you get your sound”, etc. I can see these questions being asked when they first started but he has grown since. He once said that if he couldn’t tell the “gospel” he didn’t want to say anything. I wished he had written a book.
