Its easy to install a killswitch in your car; cuts the fuel pump from engaging. Or you can just take the fuse out for that every time you leave your car. Edit: also the best security is to have layers of it. So with a car, install an alarm, install a killswitch, install a tracker, and then just have one of those clubs that connect the brake pedal to steering wheel, or one that jams the brake altogether. This goes with home security as well: the more layers you have, you make it harder for the thieves. Could buy you time, or could just dissuade them from your car/home altogether.

I have a friend that drives a lexus and he does the opposite. He leaves the windows open as to look like he's nearby, or thieves think it's a trap. Seems to work because he's never had anything stolen or vandalized. Forgot to mention that he doesn't do this overnight. It's only when he parks the car for an hour or two, ie shopping, eating, etc.

She's such an amazing person. She went through all that, and shortly after her incident, my Hyundai got broken into, and she was so sweet to me about it. She's also pretty bad ass. Truly love this crew! Kia Boyz are stealing cars here left and right.

Auto thefts are getting insane here in Toronto. While we didn't have the same Kia Boyz epidemic that happened in the States, gangs here are targeting high-end Toyota and Lexus SUVs, Honda CR-Vs, Ram trucks and other German luxury SUVs to ship and sell in Africa. And almost always its through the method that Kalyne described. Basically if your car has push button start its hackable through that method. Recently we bought a faraday box we keep our keys in to block those signals theives use to break into the cars. Was about $30 on Amazon but so far worth it.

Sorry if this is offensive but the idea of gangs being in Canada is fucking hilarious to me, I know there's definitely crime but I've been around the "dangerous and shady" parts of Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary and I never one time felt in danger, whereas in major cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, and San Antonio I've felt a lot more sketched out.
