I have lepidopterophobia (fear of butterflies and moths) and I used to be so afraid of being outside simply because of that fear. But ever since I became a parent, I wanted to overcome that so I don’t miss out playing outside with my kids, so I literally pep talked myself every time we went outside for like a year, and I am finally at a point in my life where I don’t think about it when I step outside anymore. It’s liberating but it did take a lot of work. I still flinch and hide when a butterfly or a moth gets near me, but I don’t think I am going to die from it anymore! 😂

I like to see butterflies and white moths while outside because I look up what it means online and usually the meaning is something positive. A brown moth, or any insect in my house though and we are going to have issues.

@@testing123. We have the same thing about the visiting spirits, and I think the concept is beautiful, but just like this episode, my fear was/is irrational, I wish I could simply tell myself that and it just goes away! Trust me, I tried, lol.

Wait, all butterflies and moths or just the big ones? Cuz I had that too but it was more of a general big bug/insect fear. Like the small butterflies and moths I was cool with, but the big ones had me sprinting at full speed.

My irrational fear is driving under overpasses, especially when there’s someone walking along the overpass above. I always get a pit in my stomach over the fear that someone might jump as I’m driving by and land on my car :(

2 dumb childhood fears: Nightlights- I was convinced that the bathroom nightlight was a camera lol Stairs- I was afraid that I'd roll my ankles on them, my feet would snap off and I'd have to continue down on bloody stumps. It was an intrusive thought that would pop up pretty frequently, usually when I was halfway down. Probably injured myself on them when I was little but I don't even remember the original incident 🤷‍♀ Still pops up every once in a while.

@@bethnichols2875 if I recall correctly, it was specifically the combination of black white and red (or another combination of three colors) together and just two of those colors or just one was ok but all three of them in one design was scary 😂 I remember a period of time when that was a running joke but it’s been years so I don’t really remember anymore

I'm gonna sound crazy here and I've only told this story to a handful of people in my life because of how ridiculous it may sound, but when I was 10 years old (21 now), even before Tesla or self driving cars were even a thing, I clearly remember being inside of a red Tesla, logo was vaguely similar to the logo now and the car ended up driving into a wall and I died. The main reason why I will never sit in a self driving car today.

This is the first time I've heard someone mention a fear of dead birds. I'm not sure if i really fear them, but when I see one in person, I get this weird creepy/ grossed out feeling and get cold shivers all throughout my body. Also, it's much worse if I wasn't expecting to see it or it's somewhere you wouldn't expect to see one. And my other main fear, which I think is fairly rational, is a fear of heights.

Recently this year, the week before Halloween, I found a dead raven across the street from me when waiting for the bus. Deciding to take the other bus which is when I discovered it. Upon further inspection, it layed right in front of a stump and looking above it seemed to have fallen from the electric utility pole. It was definitely an omen. I don't think anything bad happened to me that day but the way it was positioned it had probably been electrocuted and snapped its neck where it had fallen.

And there was an episode when a guy sat on a drain in a hot tub, and it sucked it guts out his ass; I never told my brother that’ll happen to him on the toilet, but he was so scared to poop he ended up constipated for like three days
