Also in our culture, during those moments you have to wake up and cuss tf out of that spirit to show that you are still living and that it should not be haunting you so it needs to go on it’s way. The more scared you are of it the easier it gets to mess with you. Usually after a couple times it go away.

lmao my roommate once had a sleep paralysis experience and she woke up confused because she thought there was a person in her room trying to wake her up and she assumed it was me even though I didn't go and wake her up that day. Running joke is that I'm her sleep paralysis demon. (meanwhile all my sleep paralysis experiences come in the form of a giant ant trying to bite my face off)

when i was a little kid i would sleep with my head under my pillow and one night i woke up and peeked past my pillow and saw the silhouette of a small leprechaun with a top hat standing at the head of my bunk bed. I was freaked out but kept calm and closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Little did i know my younger sister would always see this little figure at the foot of her bed as well for years, She didnt tell anyone until recently our early 30's when we shared scary stories.

when i was little i was scared of the movie step brothers. my family went to watch it in theaters and i wouldn’t stop thinking about the scene where they lick the shit under the seesaw. i would pray to at night to forget about it everyday for two years. my sister chased me around block busters with the CD and i would be hysterically crying and screaming running away from her. i’m not sure why i was so scared but i would legitimately think about it constantly and just feel anxious and nauseous about it. it was my only genuine fear as a kid 😭

I know a lot of ppl don't believe that sleep paralysis is paranormal, but I suffer with it and seeing shadowy figures all throughout my life. I've learned how to break myself out of it. when I was a kid and it happened alot. I would give in and just try to ignore it until it left me alone. It would consistently happen 2-3 times a month. When I woke up in the morning, physically I would feel ok, but I'd feel like something is missing inside of me. Here is when i start to sound like a crazy person and here's a tip for Steve that works for me. when im suddenly awake and cant move a muscle, i take a look around my surroundings, if i notice something dark or if my body starts feeling an emmence amount of pressure, I start to get mad ASF sending negative energy towards it and it'll leave and I'll wake up with my heart pounding knowing I won this battle. Sometimes I would even wake up and yelling towards the direction of the shadowy figure telling it to leave and never come back and that it does not belong here.

Your're not crazy. I've experienced that too 5-6 times in a 3 month period. The only permanent solution I've found was to call upon the name of Jesus Christ. Not a preacher or anything but hopefully this helps you.

Even slow motion stuff machinery , It doesn't scare me anymore but the ugh icky feeling is still there if I purposely imagine a specific scene I dunno why!

Hearing Steve's story with the man he'd see during his sleep paralysis made my mouth drop because the same thing happened to me when I was in high school, although I never saw a man. I had sleep paralysis all my life, but, in my sophmore year of my high school, it was getting progressively worse. From happening 1 - 2 week, to 1 - 3 times every night. As this was progressing, I was hearing a lot of noises in my house (which is not a big house) from cabinet doors closing to full on running footsteps coming from out of the hallway. Every time this happened, I always felt that "something" was getting closer to my room and, whatever this thing was, it was coming from the garage. I would legit be terrified to enter my garage, which was connected to the house, throughout this whole ordeal. Whatever the thing was made it into my room and I would legit feel it go ON MY BED. This all led up to, as Anthony said, a final confrontation where I had several sleep paralysis "attacks" with this thing feeling like it was right in the room with me wanting to "get in". On the last "attack", I was laying on my back when I felt hands caress my face. They were gentle hands that made me feel very much at ease. At the same time, I could hear a woman singing. My eyes were closed at this point, so I thought it was my mom singing to me to try to comfort, or wake me up. I opened my eyes and I saw nothing. Just the ceiling of my room, but I still felt the hands on my face and could hear the singing. At this point, this was when I heard the last lyric of the "song" that was being sung which went: "What can/should I do with these wings?". Then, just like Steve, I could feel this huge surge of energy being sent out of my room, as if whatever that thing that was trying to get me was being dragged out of my room. It was dragged out and sent towards the garage where I even heard the sound of the garage door slam shut. That ended the whole ordeal that I was going through for about a month? I'm not even sure. Soon after, we had our first dog who seemed to really cleanse the energy in the house and helped me sleep a lot easier after that. She was a stray that literally showed up to my house. I understand that sleep paralysis can be triggered by exiting REM sleep early, which can cause hallucinations, but that whole ordeal felt different. I genuinely believe that something was coming for me that day and something else saved me, who may have sent my first dog to protect me after that. That's my story.

Yes, sleep paralysis, you can see outside your body but people will tell you your eyes were closed. It's only happened to be 5 or so times but once I saw my sister's dad tryna wake me up to watch her and when I woke up he had on the exact same clothes. In the paralysis I was talking, saying " wait I can't move" he told me was just groaning.

I had a similar story to Steve's, back when I was still in a marines in 2020 I had came back from a deployment and decided to visit my family for Christmas and true thing about me before I had went to therapy and the marines I used to be suicidal so I created my own imagination reality and made a name for myself, really dark and negative place, but back to the story I remembered sleeping in my nephews room and felt something heavy on my chest and I was having a super hard time breathing like I was being suffocated and was trying to knock on the wall because right next room was my sister's, and so I heard someone open the front door and was trying to scream for them but like it felt like they couldn't hear me, me myself heard my voice being muffled too. I remember before being let free, the shadow I saw was the myself the character I created in my imagination reality and it had whispered into my ear "say my name and I'll let you free, you know who I am, come back and live in this world again" ever since then I would stop myself from daydreaming. Sometimes I would see the same shadow figure when I go out.

I’ve also experienced sleep paralysis like Steve. 23:23 And people are like why don’t you just try and control it and you’re suppose to be able to control it. And I’m like wtf I can’t control it!! I’m terrified the whole time and I’m screaming trying to wake up because there’s a man there and you can feel his evil presence. A lot of times he tries to choke me and other times he is just standing there. It’s horrible. I actually haven’t had it happen in awhile too. But it’s so awful.

I had/ have so many fears. The dark, clowns, spiders, water, heights. There are so many irrational ones as well, and it actually all stems from abuse from a male family member as a child. In my first year of uni i had sleep paralysis for a month, almost every night and multiple times a night. It was pretty traumatizing so now i cant ever sleep on my back and i always need to have something playing while im sleeping. I always prepared myself to see something when i would open my eyes but i never did except the most recent time i got sleep paralysis, which was the night after my grandmas funeral and burial. Idk if it was just my brain or if it was actually something. Whatever it was though, i always told myself not to be scared and to always face whatever i would see bravely and confidently. The thing i saw disappeared pretty quickly after but i was too weirded out to go back to sleep.

Steve’s story sounds like extreme anxiety to me, especially bc he says he it went away once he went to Vegas and he’s talked a lot about how Vegas is his happy place. I used to wake up in the middle of the night too but literally my mind just racing although I felt fine and could see myself too or would fall asleep and then wake up gasping for air. I got on anti psychotics and anti anxiety medication and now it no longer happens as long as I’m not super stressing.

So this was a while back but I was working/renting a house in Laguna, Philippines. Notorious for haunted sightings and the like. Most of my staff members at the company I was working in all had paranormal experiences. I've had 3 shadow people that were over 10 feet tall tower over me when I was astral projecting like Steve did. I had a shaman/someone who has powers with their third eye open say they were evil spirits haunting the house that I was renting in at the time. They confirmed they saw the same thing I explained to him in the bedroom I was sleeping in. Apparently the house was full of poison arrows (Feng Shui) term. Where doors are right in front of each other (bad luck in feng shui) and the placement of the house was also bad. There was also "gold" hidden underground the house. (Spaniards from the war many decades ago) that they were watching over and I was messing their "turf". It wasn't necessarily sleep paralysis bc I was able to move around, I felt my limbs and all and I've had sleep paralysis and it's completely different. There's more to this but the guy we were consulting with blessed the house and gave me some protection items and told me to always wear gold or silver on me and that I had a third eye and I can see spirits like him if I wanted to activate it but he said I will always feel them around me like an empath

It's pretty cool ( not the gorilla part) the Astral projection part. Takes a lot to do that, and you were doing that as a child is really cool. On the flip side, it can be very scary, and you can get " travelers" that are attracted to the light you bring since you were a child. Hopefully, he's moved on, and I'm sure he has. He is no longer in this plane of existence, and sometimes they think if they could have your light, they can be back here in the living. Hence, he asked you to " let him in." Is unnerving, but I'm sure he's moved on. I'm in the paranormal, and we really don't know. None of us truly know.

A friend of mine always had shadow people following him everywhere he went and he wasn't sure how to deal with them. He had a shaman go ti hus house and she td him that he needed to give them an order, that would shift their focus from him to their new purpose.
