Abe tells us about his drug use and what led to him leaving rehab. He then describes his relationships with his parents whom also have substance abuse issues. He strives to get clean and be a good father.
He's now back home with his family. He has a gofundme if you'd like to contribute to him trying to get back on his feet

Thank you man , you are one of the best people I've ever met you did more than help me get home you saved me life and seeing someone go that far out of way to help me I for first time think I am truly ready to get past this addiction . IDC what anyone has to say here I know who I am capable of being and know more than anyone that I have been a POS but I'm ready to put this life behind me for good , if more people could be half as willing to help a stranger like you have it might make a change but just being able to actually see myself at the lowest point in my life has opened my eyes on how bad I need to change myself . God blessed me with being where I was when you came on the strip because if I was anywhere else I'd never met you never prob still be right there , hopefully this is just the first of video together and we can meet up and show everyone my progress in long term recovery

For 5 years, his fiance has been dealing with Abe's addictions. I think it's time for her to move on, unless he goes right back to rehab and is able to get clean. I wish the best for him, but if he's going to ruin his life, he doesn't need to ruin hers too.

Only way to get there is to try 🙏 if the facility he was in had the medications he needed, he may not have ended up in Kensington. Maybe he would've been on his way to being clean. I'm sure he doesn't want to be around all that death and thievery and cold hungry nights. He can change.

14:22 Powerful question & perfect answer. He’s 100% right. The best thing we can do for our loved ones is get clean. We can paint the prettiest picture, but if we’re not putting in the work to get there then our word is shot. I’ve been exactly where Abe is. I totally get it. I really hope this dude can get into treatment and get his life back. Hopefully in the next video we’ll get to see him clean. 🙏🏽 Huge shoutout to Brother Arturio for another amazing interview and taking the reins in this one. Loved your questions brotha. @@TheBestStreetInterviewChannel you mentioned the channel Soft White Underbelly, their popularity has nothing to do with their “studio” where they do interviews, or being able to have actual production staff, what makes them popular is the variety or people they interview; all walks of life, from addicts to dealers to serial killer survivors to inbred families, if you adopt that method (interviewing variety of people) but interview them in their own surroundings you might have the market with your style!

U was right u do put alotta effort not only into the interviews but all the little things that come with it, I am currently struggling with addiction too at a very young age and only see one way out which is do it till I can’t anymore and w that being said it sucks because just last year I was in COLLGE for the same thing u have a passion for “ audio visual communications “ and those courses taught me about the little things that go into production which is why I am able to appreciate and notice things that the regular normal eye wouldn’t notice but me and u brother art we got them audio visual eyes like I notice things like your transitions I notice how your background is blurrred i notice you chose a spot w perfect lighting not to much and not too dark and I notice so much more. Thorough, poignant interview! It's clear that Brother Art is present/fully engaged/TRULY LISTENS to the interviewee, unlike the other interviewers who ask the same template list of questions, ignoring the conversational flow. It won't be long before YT will monetize his channel. As an 'early adopter' - I'm happy to see the well-justified increase in his # of subs...& he's just getting started! Keep up the great work.

I think I hit the required 4000 watched hours for adsense yesterday, youtube just takes a week to verify the numbers. So by end of the month I'll be fully monetized 🙏 it'll take time but will be happy to get to a point where I can be impactful with these people. Maybe one day get the camera I want 🥹 that new sony burano is a pipe dream currently. Money talk aside, I do want to say thank you for your compliments and support. I have every intention on being genuine, and this wasn't just a simple "pay for interview" situation. I try to get personal with every person we come across, and now that I'm on my own, j actually spent several hours with the 3 people we interviewed this night. Truly had a good time laughing and joking with them. Crazily enough me and my friend were out on the streets til 2am. Can't wait to build some bonds and be able to really help some of these people.

Dealing with serious topics like these requires quality equipment and work, to give greater dignity and importance to people and bring out the details in their behavior and give greater centrality to what they are saying. Doing interviews while filming with a phone in your hand like others do doesn't give enough seriousness to everything and avoids making us seasick.
@TheBestStreetInterviewChannel
@TheBestStreetInterviewChannel 5 ай бұрын
Really appreciate the attention to detail and appreciation for the quality. I put a decent amount of effort into all of this and to be honest I plan on getting a lot better. I agree that this type of work deserves a certain level of production. Like let's actually put some effort into it and give these people a true platform instead of just doing it as quick and cheap as possible. I take it all pretty serious when it comes to that aspect, and I still get excited when other people care about it like I do. Thanks for watching and hope you continue to enjoy everything I'm working on.

I never even asked art for anything ,other than if I could do an interview and yes I'll admit majority was because I needed the 20$ but I also wanted to speak because I am an addict but I also haven't been completely consumed by the Kensington streets and I know that I have a chance and a story that might help another addict , Art is a extremely good hearted dude that completely went beyond and out of his way to help me and sometimes that simple seeing that a stranger cares about you to not just give you a couple dollars or let you make a. 2 minute phone call but to make follow calls with my family member to help make sure I was able to just get out of there and get home to come back and not only drive me to the Amtrak but pay for my ticket , buy me breakfast and just remind me that I am better than my addiction and I have am entire life and family that cares about me , People like him are what we need it shows people who struggle that someone cares about them on a personal level to help or fight for them in some way . That is what makes someone finally turn that corner to being sober . I speak for all addict we already think everything you say negative about us plus so many worse things , remind someone of there flaws will never help them and I'm glad you do not have the struggle of living with an addicts brain but I promise you you also have a flaw about you that in some way in whatever the flaw is that makes me "better" in that type of the situation so maybe think how it would make.you feel if I picked out what you struggle with and used it to degrade you but thankful through my addictions I've learned to not take anything personal and if bad mouthing me helped make you feel a little better about yourself then Im glad that my life was able to help you have a better day or make you feel better in some way .

I’m in recovery and sober 13 years. When Abe talked about how no one will give him treatment or give them housing really bothered me. I had to pull myself up out of the ground, live in a shitty apt I could barely afford, work a low paying job, and get rides to recovery meetings because I had lost everything, including my car. No one “gave” me housing or treatment. I don’t begrudge ppl who need these things, but part of getting clean and sober is to work for it.

So he's got no where to go. He got money from his father. But now he wants people to feel sorry for him and help him out and get back to his girlfriend. I don't feel sorry for him One bit

It's ok. He loves drugs and that's what he chooses.

I never once asked for anyone to feel sorry for me that's a weird ass flex for anyone towant someone else to feel sorry for them I was simply telling my story and how a why I was in Kensington that night , and go rewatch this because you must be trippy or tweaking if you thought that I asked for any pity or even asked anyone to take me anywhere at all , yes I am going to take an offer to help me , anyone in my shoes would take that helping hand but I can promise you if this man didnt choose the reach out and offer help I would have never even called my girl that night id prob still be stuck out there trying to figure out something , idk where u live but Ill.pay you to go out and spend the time I did with no way to contact someone you know for a ride and then be offered some type of help see what you choose but then again you would have be banging on every cop car window begging them to get you out of there because you wouldn't last an hour In that type of situation it helped me see my worth see where I am going to end up and gave me perspective to help me get through the detox sickness to start my recover part of my life as an addict . And I must have misspoken my dad didn't give me a dime I had to call him and have him use his phone to help me cashapp MY OWN money so I was able to get it Because I didnt have a phone or even my wallet . I don't ask my parents or anyone For money

Another bum Lying to his father taking money from his father when he probably knows his father. Can't afford to give him money but lying to his father, saying he needs money to go back to his fiancé. And children and he just used it on drugs. See, these people don't ever change. All they do is lie in steal They want you to feel sorry for them when they keep on doing it to them. Selves See he was in rehab he didn't need leave I call bullshit

The rehab didn't have the maintenance drugs he needed to detox, this was confirmed by his fiance when I spoke to her on the phone. So yes, instead of suffering withdrawal he went to Kensington to self-medicate. The rehab and his father's house are both far from where he lives, it was easier for him to get to Kensington.

Try to not look down on him, he's struggling and he's at least honest. If the rehab had suboxone or methadone he likely would have stayed and not ended up in Kensington.

He should've stayed that's my opinion though

I'm sure he would have been more comfortable in the rehab where he would have had an nice warm place to sleep instead of walking the streets. He's been there for a whole week. I'm sure he would have got subbox and or methadone by now

@christinemontgomery3752 true but he would have suffered withdrawal over the weekend. I cant pretend to know what it's like, but every addict says it's the most unbearable feeling they've suffered. Pain and agony. Maybe what he did was selfish and careless but I do understand why he did it, even if I may not personally agree or condone his choices

The rehab was a joke? You mean you could not do it, you should be lucky you got one, the best thing to do is go to prison for a few months

He said they didn’t have detox meds. 99% of addicts would leave That’s the main reason to go. Less painless withdraw and detox

@@RedBeard10025 they will give you something They are not going to make you do a raw rattle? I have never been to a rehab, but I have have had a few detoxes in a hospital an prison, am sure you supposed to do a detox and then go to rehab, I don’t know I never been to one
