As a recovering alcoholic/addict, I can offer this small bit of information in regards to Scooby saying he wants people to love him for him: You can't make others do ANYTHING. Especially FEEL. You have to accept you. Period. When you have your ducks in a row, and your values are something YOU can respect, that's all that matters. I hate to break this to you, but nobody cares. Nobody cares that you're an addict, nobody cares if you have depression, nobody cares that you had a bad childhood. YOU have to fix it. YOU have to care. YOU have to change. YOU have to accept you. Once YOU work on YOU, nobody can take that away. If you can figure out how to survive broke and Jonesing, you can figure out how to get clean.
@DuckiesDad087 ай бұрын
The self reliance aspect is a good attitude. However, there are absolutely people who care. They may not care in ways you feel they should, but plenty sobriety advocates, addiction counselors, and others choose to work in that field because they care. It’s not a lucrative, nor glamorous, job. “No one cares” is an unfortunate personal experience. It is not a fact. Be careful with your words, especially when speaking to a vulnerable audience. Hopefully you’ll find someone whose care you can see.

I was moved by what he said at the start of the video about just wanting to be himself. This is such a hard thing to do for many of us. It was also surprising to hear about the mostly positive experiences he's had, and especially the friends he has made. He's right about the preconceptions people have about junkies being thieves etc. When they know how it feels to be ignored and treated like garbage, they understand compassion. Scooby is a lovely person, I'm glad he's got friends who have his back. Usually I feel bad for folk stuck in addiction or wish a better life for them, but there is something about Scooby that I respect and admire. Its a quality of honesty and no self pity that is refreshing.

@nedthestaffieegan34527 ай бұрын
@@TheBestStreetInterviewChannel that's really cool. I thought the same thing, I reckon it's something to do with you too and a different way of connecting. It stands out from all of these other channels where you come across in a more sincere way, as yourself rather than a documentary maker, and setting yourself apart from the 'subjects'. I guess it's hard to explain, but you aren't patronizing, overly 'compassionate' (which is another form of patronization or othering). It's not just a better technique, it's also a reflection of your personality as an individual, and the intention of connecting with the people who cross your path as if they were a potential friend. This approach really contrasts with the others I've come across, and stands out to offer a much more enjoyable experience for viewers. Not in an entertainment sense, not at all, but to enjoy seeing how easy it is to connect in a deeper way that's more of a mutual thing. As I said, this is the only time I've not felt like the obvious interviewer/ subject dynamic, and feeling so separate from the part of the world you are in. I've not come away with that uncomfortable feeling of exploitation, of the interviewee's but also viewers feeling pity and a sense of implicit superiority their lives are 'better'. This is usually reflected in the comments however well intentioned, and I've never been comfortable with it. It would be great if you and Scooby could forge a friendship, as you can sense the potential and mutual connection. Well done for creating a really nice channel, that's coming from your heart, and I hope you get to make some new friends along the way 🫂🤗

Scooby got mad potential. Interview pulls you in from the very beginning. Compelling stuff and very authentic dude. I see him singing a victory song one day soon, in Jesus Name. Plus, I gotta say this-- no shade on anybody else but after hearing you freak the mic, your interviewing style stands out as refreshingly dynamic compared to others in the field. While some tend to sound monotonous and formulaic, your approach is more personalized and engaging, allowing each interviewees personality to shine through. These other dudes are sounding more and more like robots on repeat asking the same exact questions for every single person almost treating them as just another number sharing the same story as the last person instead of individuals sharing their unique experience. If I was doing these jawns I'd allow the personality and tempermant of the person determine where I'm going with the questions and it feels like that's what you do. You're hitting this thing out the park, homie! Big ups, game changer.

Gonna develop a real relationship with him and try to influence a change. You'll be seeing him a lot on my channel. Glad you notice and appreciate my approach to it all. The good thing about being arrogant is that I won't allow myself to do the bare minimum lol. I'm gonna try to have fun while doing all this and put my best foot forward each time. Hopefully I get as close to 100% as I can. I not only want to stand out but I want each interviewee to feel unique and important themselves also. It'll make for a better experience all around. As usual, thanks for tuning in and I'm thankful to have you not just as a viewer but a youtube homie 🫡🫱🏻🫲🏽

I'm using high quality wireless mics (not the best by far, but for under $500 they're top tier) and I was an audio engineer for a while before getting into videography so yea I take some time to process and EQ the audio during editing. Idk how those other guys do it lol that bad audio would drive me insane , let alone bad visual quality 😬😬

The most simple thing is once there is a separation between a person and substances and your mind matches your heart... gain love for yourself and then things start to change in ways you would never think was possible. Love is the key!

Very good intervju! Scoobie is very genuine and honest person! I am SURE you can get clean! Make sure you go to a rehab far away and stay long! Please Take your own advise! Life is too short to be spent like that! You probably can be a model when your clean you got the look👍

Scooby it's much harder to be an untreated addict than to thrive in the regular world but it ain't over until you decide. In respect to your comment about acceptance, we were born alone and we'll die alone. Pick your dream life and manifest it. People come n go. Facing the reasons for using drugs is the price of freedom. Dying early is the price of drugging and drugging eventually gets boring and stops doing the trick. Godspeed Scooby.

A question I always want to know is how long it took before they got addicted to the point they had withdrawal and ended up in Kensington full-time.

I'll make note and try to remember to ask this in the future. Definitely a good question

Yup, true af. At first seems like a paradise, but then you realise you want more and more. All other activities start to seem pointless, not interesting or joyfull. Fortunately, i didn't go too deep, hope i'll be able to quit. I've changed a lot of things, started feeling good moving forward sober, i won't forget that amphetamine/coke drive and Euphoria, but now i realise how pointless and bad it is

Thanks for sharing and I'm happy to see that you are aware of how it all affects you and you're figuring things out. Just like me and alcohol. I love it but damn it was so bad for me. Stay strong and keep fighting. Hope to keep seeing you in the comments. Love from NJ 💯

Great interview, really like your style, also done with respect and dignity! If I may be so bold, these are the questions to ask first: name, age, where they’re from… As I said great interview!!

You are right could've gotten a bit more personal but we had spent quite some time together before cameras were set up and I just kinda carried on the convo from where it already was. Been trying to handle each interview uniquely , I think I'm so focused on trying to NOT follow a script that I forget some of the basic things.

And to think there own country did this to them.... To make it full circle u should interview recovering addicts who have prevailed from the street and are doing better in there life... big ups to bruh and the entire movement many blessings 🙏

He looks like he could use a hug. I feel that, man. I’m 5 years off a bad habit of fent. It’s possible. You are powerful not powerless and life is still kind of shitty but it’s not as shitty as it was when I was a slave to that substance or some other substance. Good luck to y’all out there. I care about you and I believe in you. All of you.

Scooby, break the cycle and stop doing drugs. Detox and reprogram your mindset. Let people love and accept the best version of yourself, but most importantly, LEARN TO LOVE AND ACCEPT YOURSELF. ❤

Now all u gotta worry about is yourself and work as hard as you want with no one holding u back like u wanted and u growin real fast bro I love to see it good sht! I’m struggling w addiction too and instead of watching atm ree all the time to try and get my head straight you earned a new loyal sub I’ll be tuning into this channel now instead just promise to stay active and consistent like u said u wanted to be in the atm fox video keep on going bro salute .

The general population needs to understand that it's not a moral issue! Addiction is a sickness but involves physical mental n spiritual. Plus as a recovering Addict I wanted to quit but cudnt. 😢. Until after 7 years!
