Hi mate you have a new subscriber 👏👌👍👍probably I need replaced my starter to because from a day to another day not crank 🤔🙄 I was under the car and I use a hammer for giving a pank right on starter and moves a little but definitely not moving anymore 🤔 a brand new battery's and definitely it's a damm starter 😀 I have a excursión 7.3 power stroke I think it's exactly like yours 🤔 anyway great explanation for replacing my 👏👌👌👍👍 cheers from Norway 🇳🇴

You should also mention do not tighten the smaller bolt too much or you will rip it right out of the starter.

I have an 02 that I just replaced the starter in, same one you got, new starter cable and batteries. The new starter winds up and it’s getting power to it but the truck won’t crank. Any ideas?

When you say it won’t crank does it try and turn and just not start or are you not getting anything. Also was it starting fine before. Did you notice any flat spots that would turn?

The starter is spinning sounds like it’s spooling up but not engaging the fly wheel

You might have the wrong starter or the starter isn’t fully tightened down. Orr your fly wheel has missing teeth. Try and turn your main pulley to turn your engine you might need a long wrench to over come the compression. Turn it about two or three stocks then try and start the truck. The other think might be is the solenoid is bad on the starter. So when you turn the key the starter shaft extends to the fly wheel and the retracts back to the starter. That might not be working properly.

Proper diagnostic tests might have saved ya 270 bucks. But good video otherwise lol

So you are correct. I actually had him charge the battery over night before I got there. I tested the battery at 13volts before cranking, And during cranking it only dropped a little. The truck did crank over but didn’t want to start. It turns out because it was a Diesel it needed a lot of cranking amps. The truck does have two batteries that’s why we started with the starter. $270 for the starter, and about $200 for each battery.

I did not see how you got the hard bolt out. On a 4x4, you cannot see it. You have to feel for it. If you find it and it is rusty, it is no longer a 13mm, you do no have room to tap it with a hammer to get the socket to engage the bolt. Your video only told me it was supposed to be a 13 mm bolt. Everything else I had already experienced.Thumbs down

First off not sure where you are getting your parts from. I searched all over the internet and this was the best price at the time. Secondly you should probably look up the definition of gipped. It has nothing to do with what happened to me and this part. Definition of gipped: to vomit or feel like vomiting.
