As an old Ford guy from the early 70's, and wrenched on most of them from late 60's up to early 2000's Watching you delve into the mysteries of Ford Vacuum driven accessories, and air pumps for emissions standards at the time was hilarious and also I felt a pang of pity for you. Best thing to do, is rip it all off, plug the holes, hook up a pump down vacuum gauge, and plug whatever leaks are left. It will run much better after that. But your AC or vent controls won't work, nor defrost settings etc. The only cars worse than mid to late 70 Fords were Dastun B-210's!!! with the vacuum nonsense. Really enjoyed this, and yes, everything has to be different with Ford.

I see the front tires have that “trench plow” feature. I think that’s a factory option on mid-80s models.

One of the best from VGG! A guy decided to capture all the great quotes from Derek, but it's not easy to do since Derek vocabulates one of these every 1.43 seconds! Using my post-pad 3000 and a pen, I've captured a list of some of my favorites: 1) We've got snow fence! 2) Leg caught in fence...going down again 3) We've got an in ground pool! 4) Let's see what we got in the cab (repeat) 5) Ankle vents wide open 6) Smells like a wet green house and port-o-potty from Woodstock 7) Columns from Caesars palace 8) Flex-O-Lite hood 9) Severe hosage 10) NASA air cleaner 11) Tin foil so she's been tuned on 12) Sounds better than Seth Green's laugh 13) Smells like burnt charcoal...a good sign 14) Lone wolf 6000 15) Something about a good egg sammich....Cardinal 16) Go till it feels right 17) This one don't fit so I need that one back 18) We got angle iron in here 19) Looks like a murder scene down there 20) Dirtier than a Molly Cirrus video Saving the best for last..."Turd Ferguson one, Derek zero"

If it's that rubberized stuff, it makes rust worse. Usually gets sprayed on and traps moisture between itself and the vehicle, making it turn even faster. Most mechanics recommend fluid film, but thankfully I drive a Chevy, and it just automagically dumps all kinds of lubricant on the chassis by design.
