Fun video Bruce! Loved seeing Doug and the others enjoying the hay pile. Giggled right with you for “pig, pig, pig, pig, pig!” 😂 and I have a suggestion to help keep the cat from using your propagation bed as a littler box: place chicken wire or deer mesh right on top. When they scratch the surface, they don’t like feeling the wire or mesh and it will deter them from using it as a bathroom.

cover your propagator with polythene or part of an old tarp to keep animals out check for ants every so often cause they like to move in but i used home built propagator for over 10 years for my selling business, excellent cheap unit

I do the same when I am feeling semi paralysed. Write a list of half a dozen chores and check/tick the box at the side when they are done. Another thing I do is tackle them first thing in the morning. Great video. You have massive undertakings but it is quite amazing what you guys have already done. In one more year or 2 the place will not be recognizable. The house will be close to finished, the gardens will be thriving. Have you thought about getting a couple of woofers in for the summer months?

I love your animals, such great characters. What a busy life you all lead but so well balanced between work and leisure. Your video eminded me of taking our water tanks out of our attic. We gave one away and grow chives in the expansion tank now. There are no tanks or pipes in our attic anymore as we have a gas water heater downstairs. All the best with the rest of the job.

When I'm a bit overwhelmed, I also make a list of things to do and try to complete a set number in a day. If I'm REALLY overwhelmed, I add a job or two that I've already completed, just so I can cross them off the list and feel better about my progress!

Great the loft is being stripped out and redone. You all won't know yourselves when it's finished. My advice for what its worth. Get the best insulation you can, ideally breathable, as it's a real investment for the future in terms of health and saving money long term. Love those pigs Bruce 😁

Hey Bruce, great video as usual. Just a a question about managing the pigs as I really want to add a couple on my land. Is that electric poultry netting you're using and does it work? I have 50m of it here so would prefer to use it rather than spend more money on other fencing options. cheers

Yes I’d say that will work fine. Mine have only broken out once and that’s because they rooted underneath it 😂

Are the pigs pets, to raise piglets or to be harvested?
@OffGridBruce Жыл бұрын
These are pets/workers. I got them to clear and prep land. Currently they are bringing a field back eating all the brambles. They are low cost as they can live on pasture alone unlike commercial pigs that would need lots of feeding
