I have a battery with the exact same Inspection date. I guess they are from same batch. It will add to my existing bank. I can't install just yet though as I need to do a reconfiguration of my battery set up and am waiting on some extra cable and lugs to arrive. Going to connect them all with a Victron Lynx Power In using the fuse modification. Replace the older bus bars I have which are not really up to the task anymore.

I have two LFP Orient Power Wall batteries 48V also known as Jakiper batteries with the off grid inverter Growatt SPF 5000ES with Victron battery monitor and busbar. Inverter is setup with the battery as Li and is communicating with the BMS. All seemed to work fine for 3 months and now we are having massive issues of batteries suddenly dropping down to 0%. Below is what I observed. 7th December 1pm SOC dropped from from 99% to 79% then after 5 minutes back to 99%. No one used the power that day or night. 14th December 1pm SOC dropped from 99% to 76% then back to 99%. We used power that night and once batteries got to 81% then dropped to 0%. 15th December, very sunny day and saw batteries charging all the way from 0% to 100% consistently. At night batteries dropped from 86% down to 0%. I can't understand what could be causing that, are batteries faulty? Where does all the energy go if batteries indeed dropping to zero.

The video by the incredibly handsome Andy is a review of the Jkiper 'Jaki' JK48V100ProPro battery, made in China but sold in Australia. Andy is impressed with the build quality and the use of Eve LF 100f cells, and notes that it comes with a printed user manual. The battery has a BMS display with four menu buttons and various communication ports. He discusses the battery's circuit breaker, BMS, and relay contacts, and notes that the battery has temperature sensors that are not connected to the cells. The battery is compared to other batteries with similar BMSes. Andy also notes that the battery has good shipping times and is covered by Australian consumer laws. The video concludes with the Andy plugging the battery into a servo port and checking its cell voltages.
@sarahjrandomnumbers
@sarahjrandomnumbers Жыл бұрын
No idea if anyone pointed out, but the manual says it closes the relay when there's a fault, and you were testing for voltage. Are you sure it didn't switch a MOSFET to close the circuit between those pins, and so you would need to use a continuity test to see if it was connected? Just wondering :).

Andy as always great video. 😁 This battery is made to be installed in a server rack. But look at the design again, how do you connect the packs together without the cables going over the display or the breaker?
@Mazlem

With either longer cables to curve around the displays, or install bus bars on each side of the rack and connect the batteries to them instead of each other. The EG4 batteries / racks are a good example of the latter.

It's just a variant of the cells EVE has produced over time. Like the LF280N and LF280K. They put different goop inside and keep developing the chemistry, getting more cycles, higher heat resistance and lots of small improvements over time. But it is still the same cell.

I agree that the temp sensors should be on the battery for accuracy. However I think they put the temp sensors on the bar for servicing reasons. I believe Will took both the pro and the base model apart a short time ago. Basically the pro wasn't worth the extra cost in my opinion. I don't think the low temp charge protection even worked.... they/we are better off with the KISS motto. All these features just turn out to be unreliable gimmicks. Someone needs to start testing batteries at 10 or so cycles a day for a year. Should be able to figure out how to automate such a test.

Great to see the EVE cells inside the Jacki Battery but unfortunatelly the big point is missing: they do not even mention EVE cells in the specs or description - at least in the EU warehouse cause I have not checked the australian one. The EU warehouse is in germany, Dietzenbach, they also apply the german 0% VAT for solar power parts and pieces which is great too. Finally you can pick it up and save 150€ shipping. At least for those germans in the middle of germany quite an astonishing deal - except the nice coupon which is not working.
@ellingolsen3194

I recently received a battery from the German warehouse and it was exactly the same as Andy's (including the packaging). The change to EVE cells is a recent one and they used different cells until quite late last year. All I can say is that before they used cells with 6mm screw holes and now they are with 8mm studs. The battery was shipped to Spain and it took about a week.

@9111logic
@9111logic Жыл бұрын
Andy should answer this one as he stated that the reason why this battery's BMS cannot talk to the Seplos BMS is the baud rate difference, where the Sepols datasheet shows its default data transmission rate: 9600BPS. BTW, 9600 is the lowest frequency ever (as far as I can remember) differently RS485 can keep baud rates from 110 Baud to 115200 Baud and DMX, which also uses rs485, can go up to 250000. But they all talk to each other as long as you use the same protocol.
@Juergen_Miessmer
@Juergen_Miessmer Жыл бұрын
@@9111logic rs232, rs485 and CAN are no protocols. They are the hardware specification of the port. They describe how a 0 and a 1 are transfered from sender to receiver. Protocols are ModBus, DMX, Midi, LANC, MorseCode, etc... They describe what many transfered 0 and 1 should express.
@9111logic
@9111logic Жыл бұрын
@@Juergen_Miessmer Ok my bad, let me rephrase that, they all have the same data communication systems - I know that, as opposed to the system which has different balanced or unbalanced voltages, a protocol has some specifics like the type of start/stop bit, length of lows and highs etc, but my point remains the same. Andy said that the baud rate of this battery BMS is 9600 and therefore it cannot talk to the Seplos because of that. Now, this is the point that I was trying to clarify since the Seplos has the same frequency.
