The videos here are unquestionable the best on the web. A trick I learned for holding the screen up vertically when attaching the connectors etc. is to attach the screen to a can of baked beans (or something) with an elastic band. Also when attaching the home button, I just use a tooth pick to hold the screen ajar while I connect. then you have beans on toast afterwards as a reward :)

why would anyone give this video a thumb down?? it is straight forward simple explanation , good all around.
@dougiequick17 жыл бұрын
I would give it a thumbs down because it is "icracked" where I simply went to see what they charged but they make you schedule a repair to even TELL YOU ...and I saw no feedback to complain ....so here is a place to lash back ...right or wrong it is my privlege ...maybe they will listen...I HATE businesses that don't put the PRICE! WHY the big mystery?????

This is a great video. It not only shows step by step how to do the repair, it also gives the names of the small components, explains what they do and what you need to do to avoid damaging anything. I watched this one and a couple of other videos about replacing just the cracked glass, before ordering a replacement screen. This helped me decide to order the glass with the digitizer already assembled. Then I watched it as I did the repair and stopped it at each step. My repair took less than an hour to do and everything turned out well. I am pretty handy and I was scrupulous about keeping track of the screws and other parts as they came off.

Having a lot of trouble removing screws. Any ideas or help I can get would be great.
@Icracked9 жыл бұрын
Emmitt Kinch We are sorry to hear that you are having this issue with your repair. Please try taking a very small square of duct tape and placing it sticky side down over the screw head. Then use your screwdriver to push through the duct tape and try to remove the screw again. The duct tape should act as a filler that expands into the void of the stripped screw head and the tape's adhesive also helps grip the sides. If this does not work, you can also purchase a screw extraction kit from our online store (shop.icracked.com/collections/tools/products/6-piece-screw-extractor-kit).

ATTENTION: it is important that, when you replace your screen, you make absolutely sure every screw goes back to where it came from; reason being, some screws, even the ones holding down the same panel, are different lengths, ranging from 1.3-1.5 MM. If you mix them up and put a 1.5 where a 1.3 mm screw should be, it will actually damage a micron(?) or other hardware underneath, rendering the phone useless. BE CAREFUL

Your video saved me a ton of TROUBLE. May God bless you for being so kind and patient enough to do this video. I purchased the iFixit kit to help my lady fix her iPhone 5S, believing that their video would help. No! It didn't help at all because the lady that put it together was so full of herself. About 80% of her video was done showing off her smiling face like she was trying so hard to advertise herself in search of a date. I watched her for about a day and when I tried to replace the iPhone 5S battery, using her tutorials, I ended up damaging the phone. I viewed your video once and was convinced that you got the sound technical knowledge to lead in this arena. I never saw your face once. It was all about the fingers and the areas of the phone that you worked on - (in real time). You were so methodical and straight on point. You talked about any potential problem areas and how to avoid messing up things around such areas. It felt like you were an Apple Engineer who co-designed the phone. My phone is working really good now. And I am so confident now that I have even made money helping others with batt replacement. Thank You, Sir.

+stavros karipidis this would work no madder how messed up your original screen is because in this video he demonstrates the entire screen being replaced. Hope this helps and good luck!

This is the best video I found to show all the detail and every step to replace your iPhone 5S screen. The only issue I found with the small white ambient light sensor filter he shows transferring over is actually only found on black screens. If you have a white screen you will not have that. Hope that saves someone else the panic and googling when they are replacing a white screen.

Saved my phone watching this, changed the battery while I had it apart. Only difficult part was getting the top assembly of camera lens, sensors and speaker in place to get the steel cover back on. Tip would be to lay parts out on double sided tape as you take them apart so it keeps screws with the right bits and screws that are size critical in the right place. Take your time and be methodical and it can be done.

Well, there are videos which show you how to do this in 5 minutes … and after 90 minutes you end up with an iPhone beyond repair. This one takes its time, but shows every catch and problem in close-up (and I mean really close close-ups, so you can determine every bracket’s alignment and stuff) - if you haven’t done things like this before (like me) you’ll be grateful (like me)! Thanks a lot, splendid tutorial!

I had literally no experience with the insides of iPhones, and I was even dealing with a slightly botched screen replacement done by a bad repair shop (they lost a couple screws and the plate that covers the home button flex connection, the little frame around the front facing cam, and my front cam & co component is disconnected from the temp plate) and now my phone works just fine as far as I can tell, unlike before when it was sometimes unresponsive to touch, or acted like I was touching it when I wasn't. Then a few weeks ago I dropped it on concrete and just barely made 4 cracks in the top right corner. A few hours later, LCD stripes were all over my phone, and the Back cam started not focusing about a week ago. Now all of these immediate problems have been solved and I am very happy and pleased.

This is a great tutorial video. They definitely make it look easier and less frustrating than it actually is. I highly recommend the iSclack tool featured in this video. I attempted removing the screen on my wife's phone yesterday with just the suction cup and I ended up putting too much force into it and breaking the ribbon cable for the home button. Now I have to wait for the replacement button to arrive and even after I get the new button back in, the touch ID isn't going to work. Just be mindful that these components can (and will) break very easily.
